Here are the vents of those supposedly Panasonic 1800uF ones from this post https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...4&postcount=19 (again, on the left are those questionable and at the right the ones from dead mb's):

Is it possible that those are some ugly looking but after all real Panasonic caps, though I doubt it?

And now some other for which I would kindly ask for help in determining if they seem to be genuine or fake.
This is fist time I see Panasonic in black-and-white markings instead of those usual gold/yellowish ones.
The other ones are supposedly Rubycon 1000uF 6.3V MBZ.
I'll test their actual capacity as soon as I get my hands on cap. meter.
      Thank you in advance

They all look real to me. The panasonics have that sort of bung, and the rubycons have that bung too. The vents are stamped with the right shape too. Old rubycon MBZs were blue with gold lettering, but newer ones are just black with white lettering. Not sure why they changed it, but I know nippon chemi-con changed the sleeve color of their KZE caps from green to brown.

Well yes, I know about newer Rubycon black-and-white caps, but it's first time I see Panasonic in black-and-white

Re: Fake / counterfeit capacitors are getting better

I only know of Panasonic FR to be silver on black. It's possible FJ being a oem only series to be made on the same line as the new FR series and use the same silver/white on black paint.

The stylized M looks fake to me, the bends at the bottom of the M are not round enough and overall seems a bit too big, the legs of the M should be curved to the insides, not at 90 degrees.

The bottoms are the panasonic style but it looks a bit weird, like it's not quite 100% panasonic but can't put my finger on it.

pictures below from 2200/16 panasonic fm and 3300/25 fr

looks close to the 3300@16 i recently got from digikey.
the datestamp is now goldish rather than dark reddish maroon.

Those FJs are geniune. I've seen identical looking ones on motherboards. Same goes for the MBZs

Yeah, I think they are all genuine too.
I just haven't seen a Chinese manufacturer get everything right and make perfect fakes. They always screw up at least one thing somewhere. Usually the bungs. The more obvious ones don't even bother to get the vent stamp right.

yeah, I still wonder whether the NCC caps in post 1 just needed reforming too.

I don't have a variable psu so can't test that, but I will definitely keep these and try to reform them when I have one.

Its quite easy to make a variable PSU. Just a potentiometer, an op-amp, and a pass transistor on a heatsink (Other parts needed too, but they are capacitors, resistors, etc...)

They indeed are getting better. Mine KYAs were recignized visualy as fakes after all but I have checked capacitance/ESR as a first and all was OK, that is also why I was so sure from the begining. At least as the ESR Micro can tell with ESR minimum reading of 0,01 ohm (too high for many caps as they are specified under 0,01!).

                            Hi,
yesterday I got a shipment of Nichicon HZ and HN 8x20mm size capacitors, 1000 uF, 16 and 10V from Audjade (China) via Ebay. I understand Audjade are trusted sellers specialised in high quality capacitors. However, what puzzles me is the color of the silk screen print. It looks more like copper than like gold.

Comparison with NZ from a trusted local reseller

                            Bungs look like original

                            Vent looks almost (better than?)...

...original. Well, Im comparing 8mm with 10mm caps.

I realised the copper colored prints are of higher resolution then the golden ones. Apart from the color the capacitors look quite good, like original. Has Nichicon switched to copper metallic laquer for the silk screen prints?

                            Best regards,
                            Badhat

No, only Rubycon used similar color for MCZ. The vent on the original is strange and the rimm around those bungs is somewhat „sharp“. Don't like these…you sure they are original? Been told the same…

Don't think that is the problem. Cap/ESR meters usually use something like 0,1 V, capacitor needing reforming for such low voltage would be very very bad IMO.

badhat's HZs are probably fine too. I'd say it's just a variation in the manufacturing, or maybe it's a bit faded.

I thought exactly the same about KYAs. Been just conforming myself, good manufacturers just don't have "a variation in the manufacturing".

I thought the date codes on Nichicon caps (at least for HM, HN, and HZ) only begin with "H", not "B". Or am I missing something?

Those are fine, I've seen plenty of NCC caps with gray bungs

                                            Hi,

I have capacitors like this one in the photo. There are differences between other Elna series, I attach foto of Elna RE3. On this green capacitors series is not specified! Fake?...

Hi, I have some 32 bits computer motherboards that need repair, as they fail to
                                            power on.

                                            Here are some examples :

(N.B. "capacitors" indicated here are electrolytic capacitors located in the onboard
                                            switching supply area).
                                            (N.B. #2 : I could not find a 3300 microF aluminum-polymer with a higher voltage
                                            than 6.3 V.)

1 - Motherboard #1 : this is an Asrock K7VT2 (socket A) that still works well. To put it on test
                                            I replaced capacitors with aluminum-polymer.
                                            3300 microF/6.3 V. x 4 replaced by 3300 microF/6.3 V. (KYOCERA...

AA and AAA battery charger capacitors?

hey all, iv got my favourite battery charger here which iv had for many years probably 15 years now or maybe even more. it still works good but thought id open it up to clean the dust out of it, lots of dust inside but now its clean and noticed 4 capacitors inside it and wondered if i should replace them.
                                            it has inside:
                                            2 x 47uf 16v caps 105c branded as Su'scon (lol sounds sus to me)
                                            2 x 470uf 16v LZ105c branded as G.Luxon

not heard of these brands are they any good?

iv attached photos of the charger and the board inside for an idea on the type of...

Fake Nichicon capacitors with an almost-perfect sleeve?

Same font, perfect logo, same size of the sleeve. The air vent looks okay. The diameter of the capacitors is correct per datasheet.

It truly looks like the real thing.
I doubt that you would distinguish it from a genuine one.. if it wasn't for the bung.

Shall we be afraid, at this point, that even the bung can be replicated?...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                                            After all of...
