    Replacements for Canicon and Evercon

    Hello, I am recapping my monitor and also want to replace the low quality capacitors on the logic board.

    The caps on the logic board are following:
    3x Canicon 220uF 16V 6x12mm
    1x Canicon 470uF 16V 8x14mm
    4x Evercon 100uF 16V 6x8mm

    width x height

    What could I use to replace them?
    There was no series marked on the capacitors, on the Canicons it reads just the brand, capacitance value, voltage and 105C temperature. Nothing else.

    On the Evercons after the temperature there is a circled E letter and under that E83A which is the date code I assume. No clear indication about the series either...

    I will be ordering from Digikey this time.

    I don't know if the description will be enough for the cap experts on here.
    But I can't image that pictures wouldn't hurt, if in fact almost be required to aid in proper identification. Especially since there are no series markings.

    Inserting images in your post.
    *Read the comment by RatDude, 4th down, for corrections on doing this with the new forum software. Changes were made.

    Also, I'd suggest posting them as attachments only, then you can use a significantly higher resolution. Be sure to crop them, make them as clear as you can. Macro mode is required for less than 1 meter shots on many non high-end cameras.

        Re: Replacements for Canicon and Evercon

        You can use pretty much any general purpose capacitor there, all the heavy work when it comes to producing power is done on the other board.

        That board only has some linear voltage regulators, which don't need capacitors that are very low esr (in fact some linear voltage regulators don't like having very low esr capacitors).

        I would use Panasonic FC, Nichicon HD or HE, United Chemi Con KZH, KZM, LXZ .. all these should work just fine.

        Since you're in Finland, you'll probably get hit with the shipping fees from Digikey. Consider using Farnell : http://fi.farnell.com/aluminium-electrolytic or RS-Components : http://fi.rsdelivers.com/?&cm_mmc=Wo..._-MainWorldMap

          Thank you. So I ended up choosing these:
          http://www.digikey.fi/product-detail...529187?cur=USD
          http://www.digikey.fi/product-detail...529188?cur=USD
          https://www.digikey.fi/product-detai...356102?cur=USD

          So these should be allright? Is KZM too low ESR? Does KZM have the same problems as KZG series?

          By the way, there is a company in Finland that arranges group orders to Digikey, so shippings costs are very low.

          Edit: Oh, and these are the caps that I choosed for the power supply:
          3x 1000uF 16V Hermei LZ -> 3x 1000uF 25V Panasonic FR
          4x 1000uF 16V Hermei LE -> 4x 1000uF 25V Rubycon ZLJ
          2x 180uF 25V Hermei LZ -> 2x 180uF 50V Panasonic FM
          1x 4.7uF 50V Fuhjyyu TM -> 1x 4.7uF 50V Nichicon PW
          100uF 400V Fuhjyyu MS -> 100uF 400V Chemi-Con KXG

          I assume these are good, too?
          This is the power supply: http://www.emax-co.com/english/produ...23&sup_no=1714

            As far as I know, KZM doesn't have the same problems as KZG.

            The chosen capacitors should be fine. And the other chosen capacitors look good too.

              Thank you. I swapped the 100uF 16V Panasonic FC's to 100uF 25V Nichicon HE's due to lower price and better specs.
              And the Rubycons were out of stock, so I used Panasonic FR instead of them to replace the Hermei LE capacitors too.
              The monitor works like a charm now. I'm thinking that it should be pretty durable with all new capacitors.

                Good job It should be reliable now. Yeah even though they are low capacitance it's good to replace those caps. Just recently I came across some Evercon caps in a switch that were dried up and a 100uF Fuhjyyu cap that wasn't bulging but the ESR was 16Ω and the capacitance was 61uF

                  Hello Folks,
                  I need to consult your brains here. I have a NAS (storage device) which seems to have a blown capacitor (selected in the picture).... There are lots of capacitors on this board, they are all of the Evercon brand and have one of the 3 codes : E83A 220uF 16V, E7NB 25V 470uF, E81A 25V 1000uF. By the size of it, I guess it is the smaller one E83A.

                  Which capacitor should I buy to replace it? thank you.

                      taken from my thread about car alarm siren here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...rm-siren-issue

                      there are 2 caps which im looking to get replacements for.
                      Branded as Gemcon
                      single 100uf 16v 6.5mm x 11.5mm
                      single 100uf 50v 8mm x 11.5mm
                      lead spacing is around 3mm

                      there is space for 16mm tall caps

                      rs components is good place for me to go since its close by, what replacements do you suggest and do these need to be low esr?

                      Xbox 360 Xenon Modern Capacitor Replacements
                      by burom
                      I found my old Xbox 360 in storage and opened it up to see if there was anything that broke since it was built in 2006 (launch era Xenon revision, never red ringed, never been serviced) and didn't want to find out by releasing magic smoke. Upon moving the dust bunnies out of the way I was greeted by a bunch of capacitors with crud coming out of the top; it doesn't seem to have leaked onto the board so at least I have that going for me.

                      I'm posting here because I want to try to source replacement caps myself from Mouser or Digikey instead of braving eBay or waiting for places to have...

                      Help me decide which MOSFETs are suitable replacements
                      by прямо
                      Friends,

                      I need help. I'm having a bit of difficulty in deciding what would be the compatible replacement for these MagnaChip N-Channel Trench MOSFETs on a VRM circuit because they seem to have a much faster switching times compared to most N-Channel Trench MOSFETs out there that have the same (more or less) current rating and Rds(on)

                      MDD1502 (high side), 48.5A 7.8mOhm
                      MDD1501 (low side, 2 in parallel), 67A 5.6mOhm

                      VGS is 10V High side drain is 12V. Low side drain is from PWM controller (Richtek RT8120A) phase output 1V.

                      Here are the ones...

                      Recapping the power supply board for a Samsung 305T monitor, everything is Capxon except 2 Rubycons. I can't find data sheets matching these online, so don't know what ripple numbers, impedence, etc, to look for. There are a few different looking GL series data sheet PDFs, but the listing that matches the capacitance and voltage is a much bigger case size. I've narrowed down selections with lead spacing and case diameter, and what's in stock at Digi-key

                      by DrFalken
                      Hello,
                      Yesterday a customer brought us a Latitude 5530 with 2 damaged USB ports (type A).
                      The ports are made by Singatron and, checking the measurements and soldering points, the model should be this one: https://www.singatron.com.tw/en/product/file/280177-1
                      I checked at RS, TME, Farnell but I didn't find this model
                      Where can I find them? Something compatible is also fine...

                      Thanks!!
