Help me decide which MOSFETs are suitable replacements

    Friends,

I need help. I'm having a bit of difficulty in deciding what would be the compatible replacement for these MagnaChip N-Channel Trench MOSFETs on a VRM circuit because they seem to have a much faster switching times compared to most N-Channel Trench MOSFETs out there that have the same (more or less) current rating and Rds(on)

    MDD1502 (high side), 48.5A 7.8mOhm
    MDD1501 (low side, 2 in parallel), 67A 5.6mOhm

VGS is 10V High side drain is 12V. Low side drain is from PWM controller (Richtek RT8120A) phase output 1V.

Here are the ones I'm currently looking at:
    Matsuki ME60N03 (high side) 50A 8.8mOhm
    Matsuki ME70N03 (low side) 70A 5.6mOhm

    Nikos P0903BDG (high side) 50A 9.8mOhm
    Nikos P0603BDG (low side) 75A 6.5mOhm

which I already have a few in stock, taken from old gen mobos with dead PCH.

Do you think they will work fine as replacements?

Oh well, I guess I will just pick either pair and try it myself. Hopefully they won't blow up again and take out the processor.

Just a quick update. IT DIDN'T WORK AT ALL. No switching was happening. A new PWM controller IC, new mosfets, and instead of getting a 3.3V enable signal, I got 7V which doesn't make any sense at all considering it is pulled high to 3.3V BUS!

Either I have a DOA PWM controller, or I have killed a component that sets it up to work when I removed the old controller with my hot air station.

So I removed it and also the mosfets (again!), the enable signal returns to 3V.

MOSFETs replacement work fine. I had 7V EN on the PWM IC because the center ground/thermal pad was not making a proper contact with the board. Re-soldering the IC for the 2nd time fixed the issue. Power rail came back to life.

The MOSFETs that I ended up using were the Matsuki ME60N03 + ME70N03 pair.

Device got sold a couple of days ago 😬

          Asus P4C800-E VRM issues
          by c_corr
This board had the initial fault in VRM with high side Mosfet from PWM1 (phase 1) getting very hot. It also had the VRM caps quicly heating up in 10-15 seconds after power on.

This board uses mext ICs and Mosfets in VRM:
          - ADP3180 PWM controller - in 3 phase mode
          - ADP3418 as Modfet drivers
          - High side Mosfets STD38NH02L (from ST)
          - Low side Mosfets STD90NH02L

Some of the symptoms were very similar with the "Dead Asus P5P800-VM" in this forum.
I had the sawtooth voltage on Vcore too this was probably the cause of the Vcore caps...

Seasonic B12 BC-550 – barely 2 years old and with BAD CAPS already!

I know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.

For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
          by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

Harman Kardon sub TS11 (ds15 amplifer) blows fuse and mosfets
          by BlackScreen_22
Hi, I'll start by saying that I'm not an expert and I've reached a point where I don't know what to try/do anymore...
Starting from the beginning: I opened this subwoofer for the first time with a very strong smell of burnt electrical components, I realize that on the amplifier board there is a hole between V+ OUT and GND about the size of a finger, the damaged components were the shorted mosfets, two damaged zener diodes and two capacitors. I bought everything, I fixed the hole by cutting the pcb and putting a piece of a perforated board.
I had no problems connecting mosfets and capacitors,...

Dell WD19 Docking Station - no power
          by BMCappelletti
          Hi.
Dell WD19 Docking Station, with no power. No lights or fan spin.
Board is LA-971P. COuld not find boardview or schematic for it.
I found a blown cap on one side of the board, marked with a red rectangle in the following picture. On the same side of the board I can follow 19V from the bottom round circle to the top roud circle, on the mosfet. But it stops there, with nothing on the other side of it.

On the other side of the board, both mosfets marked with a green rectangle had only 0.6 ohms from source to gate and I replaced it. New ones had around...
