    Samsung 226bw bad capacitors ?

    Hello,

Recently, i had problems with my monitor (Samsung 226bw). The problem is for no apparent reason, it has started to flicker very rapidly when I turn it on. So, I checked on the web for a answer. I found that this problems is related to bad capacitor. But, when I opened the monitor, the capacitors seems to be a little bit curved on the top. So, based on the pictures, do you think those capacitors are bad ?

. You should know how I prefer the pictures.

Yes, the ones in the picture are bad. Replace all the Capxon capacitors including the non bulged ones.

    As forum member toasty stated,

        Hello again,

I was searching on the web for the replacement capacitors, but I'm still a beginner in electronic. So, do you guys think those capacitors will do the job correctly ?

Re: Samsung 226bw bad capacitors ?

          Hello,

I wouldn't use the Panasonic EB series capacitors. I don't think they are low esr
capacitors. If new to these type of repairs I would recommend to use FC,FM,FR from Panasonic instead as these are low esr caps. Be sure to check your dimensions on the caps your replacing and buy accordingly. Good luck with your repair/project.

          Have A Great Day,

The general "preferred" order is FR, FM, and then FC.

                Neither. Use Panasonic FR 820uF 25V 10x20mm

The caps in post #6 with my suggestions in post #8 are superior to the Capxon caps. In particular, my example ordering post point #2 says (with italics added for emphasis)

you want to replace the caps with the following critera:

                    a) uF - same uF
                    b) V - same voltage
                    c) ripple - same or more ripple
                    d) ESR - same or lower ESR
                    e) size - you want to make sure the cap fits diameter and height wise

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

I picked up a 70" Samsung UN70TU7000WXZA. The original owner said they were watching it when the power surged and knocked it out. I pulled the back off the TV and disconnected the main board from the power board, and the LED backlight came on, which I was told meant the power board was good. When everything is plugged in the standby light will not come on, looking at the main board BN94-17775A with a thermal imaging gun I can see one of the chips labeled 3202 is 251 degrees F just sitting idle. I found a replacement board, BN94-16115X; this board has the same symptoms, except it is a different...
