    No sound after recapping

Hello , I get no sound output after changing my capacitors. It's weird because sound drivers load without problems.Control panel shows everything OK, sound hardware is detected OK.This happened after 3300uf 6.3v(3) near CPU socket, 2200uf 6.3(4) near CPU socket, 1500uf 6.3 (2)near AGP slot and 1500uf 6.3(1)near chipset SIS730 were changed. Its a PCCHIPS 810 rev 7.1c with Duron 850 CPU onboard (soldered). Is there any way to fix this?Thank you

Are you sure you didn't accidentally desolder something related to the sound hardware? If it's an on-board sound card, the sound output socket may have a dry solder joint. If the sound hardware is detected properly, the drivers have loaded and you can play sounds, the card is physically OK - probably just some problem with connectors.

Also, double-check that all capacitors you put in are the right way round. Maybe one of the capacitors you soldered in was used for the sound card amplifier, and you soldered it in the wrong way round - which would cause it to stop functioning.

You _are_ plugging the speakers into the right socket, aren't you? Are the speakers powered on? Have you tried headphones? (Sounds dumb I know, but I honestly have been stumped by these problems before!)
You know there's something wrong when you open your PC and it has vented Rubycons...

I've tried with speakers, headphones and nothing happens.Solder joints are ok and I did't made any mistake when soldering the new capacitors.

Not dumb at all - often the solution is hard-to-find simply because the problem is so banal. The KISS principle, you could say, a modified Occam's Razor.

Welcome Jorge Also check the board for any solder "boogers", as Topcat would say - they're easy to miss.

PS. Just read your reply, Jorge. Is there any sound/crackling at all, or is it completely silent? Could you check with a sensitive voltmeter if there's any potential at the socket at all?

It's completely silent ,seems like the sound amplifier does not work at all

did it actually detect the hardware and then request driver?

Do you have the front panel audio connector on your board? If so it will have 2 jumpers that must be present for the sound to work, or have the front panel audio plugged in. Make sure you didnt accidently knock these off.

Sound hardware is detected flawlessly, the only problem is the output there isn't any sound output. There isn't any, even when booting the machine using msdos and initializing the onboard sound with sndinit /init.For example Duke Nukem for MSDOS detect the hardware like windows do without any problem but there is no sound.

The output isn't driven... tried something with an amp in it?
