the capasitors around the CPU look ok. and yes the brand is HM (M) their not buldging and no leaks. i didnt know that capasitors play a vital role in a computers proformance. my cpu temperature form an average of 50 to 55 when the computer was idle during the time i didnt replace the caps went down to an average of 35 to 40!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! im amazed! and video encodeing is a breeze! once again! thank you bad caps! i'll spread the word here on how replaceing my bad capasitors helped alot!

ok after a few weeks of using em jackson caps! i can sence a few glitches here and there! 1st off i removed my RAM and used the original ram 256mb pc 3200 after that i removed it and put the 2gb pc 6400 (only 1gb is recognized) the system seems to run a little hot. then when i went to the bios screen i couldn't select or modify any options. i had to reset it using the jumper on the motherboard. then everything went back to normal. i wonder how long would thease crappy caps survive.

Yeah, those caps won't do you right friend and the likelyhood of damage will cause you more trouble when you have to buy new motherboard. As Per said the only poly caps that are going to help are on the vcore output. Even the good high end capacitors are WAY less than a board. And they handle temperatures up to 105 Celsius. Good Luck

Not sure if your memory was being discovered correctly or not now, but I've had a few motherboards with 2 slots (not 4) that would ONLY recognize a matched pair. If they were different sticks, only one would be recognized. There was no option to not run dual channel on these specific boards.

Thought I'd throw that in there, as it had me stumped for a bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if the half-detected RAM was also causing problems.

Poly VVX-250 VOIP POE problem not booting fix
                    by CapLeaker
I've got a bunch of Poly VVX-250 VOIP phones that work fine as kind as long as they are plugged into the wall wart. Recently I got around to install a couple of TP-Link 5 port POE switches that are added to the existing plain Jane 24 port unmanaged switch. Great!!! Finally I am able to ditch the wall warts from these phones making more space on the desk, plus I am gaining some badly needed power outlets. So I thought.

Plugged in the first VVX-250 into the POE switch, booted up no problem. Plugged in the other Poly phones and they start to boot anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds,...

                    by eccerr0r
So what's with the "AMD" DDR2?

My (Intel) board "officially" supports 4G DDR2's (four slots, 16G total) but this "AMD" deal is kind of scary recalling back to the old SDRAM deal. In fact I have a few 512M SDRAM modules now but they don't work in my 440BX board, which is too bad, would rather run this board with 2GB RAM through its four slots, else have to use the VIA boards with only 3 slots is the best I can otherwise do.

But anyway I heard these "AMD" DDR2 still "work" on an Intel board but cannot clock at PC6400...

bricked my laptop ram from messing around too much with spdtool!
                    by ChaosLegionnaire
so i thought i could squeeze some extra speed out of my ram... i was trying it using some 2x2gb kingston hyperx so-dimm ddr2-667mhz cl4 on my dell latitude e6500 latoptop. it worked well only until when i tried flashing the modified settings on it using spdtool. laptop now beeps for bad ram... *grumble* had to add the stock 2x2gb nanya ddr2-800mhz cl6 ram back into it...

i tried putting one hyperx module in and the other nanya module in thinking it would follow the nanya's looser timings and settings but nooo... still no boot and same old bad memory...

Which caps to replace: ECS P4M800Pro-M V1.0A
                    by Mattz_GT
It's feeling like this board has a case of badcaps, instability and reboots - and not wanting to necro a a very old thread, it seems the 680uF 4V are highly suspect.
I don't really want to blanket recap everything, but maybe the others around that area could do with being changed?

Equipment: I have a temperature controlled soldering station, read the bit where it says set to 400F, don't think I would have gone that high without reading that.
Spring plunger solder sucker, and some desolder braid... and a bit of good old leaded 60/40.

                    PS. Additional diagnostic,...
