Re: Aulmighty capacitors
Ha, ha, ha would you like some white porcelain with your capacitors??? Thinking maybe they should work on their Engrish! In fact I was making an attempt to understand the company name which I've come to the conclusion they meant to spell it "Alumighty" (as in aluminum electrolytic), but instead their Pinyin pros misspelled it Aulmighty.
To read the PDFs, you have to install Acrobat's "language pack" to view. Ironically, once I did, I discovered there weren't any Chinese characters...

Aulmighty capacitors
In my ongoing effort to recap the various electronic devices featuring 'lytics, I came across these "Aulmighty" caps in a Siemens Gigaset SE567. The board is a hodgepodge of cap makers, ranging from Nichicon (VZ) and Panasonic (NHG) to G-Luxon (SM) AND Aulmighty "CD268" & "CDSL". I was able to find their website, but their datasheets are for shame (see 6973542...

Re: Intel D850EMV2 Recap project
I think I might be an addict!
Next priority is getting the Hipro PSU going. After that, I'm planning on doing the second D850 board. At that point I'll probably replace those other caps on this board (C18361). After I source some PC1066-32P RDRAM modules and that 3Ware 9500 card/some more HDDs, this board will be ready to serve as my new domain controller. It's funny though; after so much time on a machine with 3gb of RAM, one forgets how much of a hit you take with paging operations on a board with only 512mb! But, a 3.06gHz...

Re: Intel D850EMV2 Recap project
Well, the recapping went well though I didn't replace the (2) 10v 470uF VR (forgot to order?), (3) 16v 2200uF LXZ, and the 3 KZEs on the main power circuit. I doubt they will go bad any time soon, but I will likely replace them before putting it back into full service. I pushed this to semi-completion early due to my next "project" Hipro PSU off my main PC. Thanks to you all for your help, I couldn't have done it without ya!...

Re: Intel D850EMV2 Recap project
Just an update. Received the caps for the board (minus the (3) 16v2200uF LXZs and 10v 1500uF KZE). Put in the bigger caps and working on the (12) 25v100uF and (17) 25v22uF caps. Looks like this board will be up before my main computer with failed PSU. I should hopefully be done later today, if not tomorrow. Pictures to follow>Re: Intel D850EMV2 Recap project

Re: HIPRO PSU full of Teapo
No, no ,I asked for it
I'm going to use the 16v3300uF RS you suggested and the Samxon RL series seems to be comparable to the Teapo SE(K) series, but with added lifetime at 105C (1000hrs vs. 3000hrs). But Alas I am without a 50v6.8uF replacement, soliciting advice wanted?...

Re: HIPRO PSU full of Teapo
Also I see Nichicon PW and PS's ripple rating are at 100kHz (PM is at 120Hz). The Teapo SEKs are rated at 120Hz. Would this be where the "frequency coefficient of rated ripple current" tables come in? Or just stick with PM series?

Re: HIPRO PSU full of Teapo
Thanks PCBONEZ, when I originally did a search (which I tried to reproduce, but couldn't find the search result), I found one result that said Teapo "SE(K)". That is the SE.pdf in the first post. Oddly, I compared both series and they seem to be virtually identical. The only difference I found is that the SEs are ROHS whereas SEKs is not?
And thanks momaka for the suggestions, I came up with most of those series as well. I definitely like the Chemicon KY series to go in place of the Teapo SCs. The only two out of the KY that won't...

Re: HIPRO PSU full of Teapo
Alright, so far I have:
Teapo SC = Nichicon PJ, Rubycon VXG, Chemicon LXZ/KZE/KY
Teapo SEK = Nichicon PS, Rubycon YXA/YXF
Still looking for caps, but seems like Nichicons will be going in.

HIPRO PSU full of Teapo
Hello,
I'm writing this on my Dell Mini, main PC's PSU died. I have about three caps that are puffy, going to do full recap. The PSU is all full of Teapo, and I want to replace with something nice (obviously). I'm looking at the datasheets ATM, but does anyone offhand know what what series caps are compatible?

Re: holley cow 1997 hdd
The one thing that makes old hard drives iffy is the lubrication coating on the platters becomes gooey with age. 1997 still not old enough yet. IIRC, running the drives keeps that stuff from becoming "goo".

Re: I got myself a mousepad!
Nice pad unique,
I did without one for a long time, but found that:
a) clogged gliders with dirt faster than with pad
b) breaks down finishes of wood surfaces
+1 -> After getting a new one, I wondered how I ever got along without it!

Uhhhh, you're sadly mistaken..Original Pentium, "i486"
Wrong again...586 exists. You probably aren't aware, but it's not legal to trademark numbers, so the "486s" and "586s" were amongst the last CPUs made by Intel to be referred to in this way.Re: Reducing memory usage

Re: Reducing memory usage
Hey, you have to admit it's fun to keep pushing hardware to the limit. I have an old Toshiba Satellite 100cs with a 75mHz 486sx with a math coprocessor (Pentium), 32mb RAM, no optical drive, much less USB. It originally ran Win3.1, but I managed to get Win95 on 7 floppies and was able to get it to run. The backlight still shining bright, 300mb HDD still functions (wtf?), only the battery's shot. I might still yet get a new battery for it, find a damn small Linux distro for it, and maybe there's even a pcmcia wifi card in existence (got an...

Re: Successful P4 478 OEM Gateway to retail Intel bios flash...
I remember AMIBCP can corrupt certain BIOSes and the BIOS is more likely using some sort of compression. Sorry it's been a while since I did anything with BIOS modding and lost all my stuff, I'd try looking around Rebels Haven forum. There are some pretty in depth threads dealing with all kinds of BIOS and applications.
