I not one to mince words when it comes to PSU`s. But before i bought my last 2 PSU`s which are installed in both my riggs I was like most people who have a computer.
You buy a case that comes with a PSU installed and your off to the races for the most part.
Quite a few people who of course would never admit it who post on these forums as well as other forums use cases that came with a PSU installed.
You say prove it...thats would be rediculous who is going to admit such a thing?

I am trying to repair Trust 420W PSU, model PW-5210 (http://www.trust.com/en/all-products...ual-fan-pw5210).
When I checked the psu for the first time I founded in primary side:
1. Glass fuse was blown.
2. 2 x Power FET's MJE13009 was shorted.
3. 2 x 0.5 Ohm, registors (R4, R5) was burned.
4. 1 x Orange or Red + ? + ? + Gold, registor (R7).
5. 1 x 472 1KV capacitor missing one leg.
6. 2 x 10uf 50V was burned.
1, 2, 5 and 6 replaced with new one.

Okia. The name doesn't really make any sense to me. Either does Broadway Com Corp, they are neither in broadway, and don't supply products to the communication industry.
Anyway we all know to stay away from their power supplies, they are just another chinese gutless wonder. What about this one? It was their heavy hitter (until they replaced it with the 680W.) so it should be good quality as every company needs to have one power supply that isn't a total POS (ahem, powmax.)

So i bought an old-stock Apevia X-Qpack. This comes by default with a "420W" power supply. Since i read this review from JonnyGuru, i thought it would be crap:

But i think i've got a newer revision of this psu. Mine got a passive PFC and looks rather complete. I've added some pictures to show it to you guys.
The primary:
- a pretty much complete input filtering stage
- Real 250W Passive PFC coil with an added capacitor
- 2x 2SC2625
- KBL406 bridge... -
i needed a cheapie case today and surprise there was something more substantial than the usual L&C lightweight special inside. Anyway i ask you psu gurus for your opinion. safe to use?
has a big coil/transformer whatever under the lid which i forgot to show.
anyway crap or not?...
