Hi everyone, I’m Alekxys, and I’m a software engineer. I recently bought a second-hand laptop, only to find out that it has an Absolute Persistence Module. That’s how I ended up in this forum. Nice to meet you all!

hey guys, managed to get my hands on a laptop with a gpu problem. tried taking it to a service yet the service man in my country prefer to "replace the board" .. (a rare board that hard to find and those that i found cost 1000 bucks!!) so i though i might get a boardview for the board and start on repairing it my self (or at least try) and see if i manage to do anything

hello all. My name is Don, I'm 69 years old and have very little knowledge of electronics. I posted a problem I am having in the capacitor section but I think it is being redirected somewhere I probably should have put it. I am learning some things about electronics specifically vintage stereo's but I also see a need to learn about my guitar gear, my studio mixer and well it would be nice to learn enough to fix those things and not kill myself doing it. I have built a dim bulb tester and am currently working on my Kenwood KR-6030. I also have an analog meter but will get a digital next month. I guess thats all about me. Any questions I will be glad to answer. Cheers!

                                        Hello Everyone

Hope I am doing this right. As a kid I become interested in electronics when I stuck what i now know as a a small coil into a wall socket and it zapped and melted. Also was the kid the neighbors called when the vertical roll on the TV got bad or needed to hook up a new rotary dial phone. Yeah, me is old now. Joined the Army just to get into Electronics and got a job as a Electronics Instrument Repairman which later become a Calibration and Repair Tech for all the Army's Test, Measurement & Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE or PMEL if you know Air Force lingo). during those years i became an Instructor at the joint Service school starting out in electronics Fundamentals and later in the Advance Course in the Microwave Equipment Calibration course. Also during this time we started teaching Microprocessor theory and got interested in Computers. Prior to this I had a Timex Sinclair Z8080, Later i got a Tandy 1000 with the 2 5 1/4 Floppy drives. From there i learned to build my own PC's and service others. After retirement I became a Desktop Tech for a major medical system and have worked up thru the system as a Lan System Admin and now as a VMWare Tech. soon to retire again and just chill and just use Technology to see the world and travel and take photos. Glad to be here.

I'm a coder and maker and have contributed to hundreds of open source projects over the years. Realizing that things have got a little too small for me to fix these days I have decided to add component level repair to my skillset... I look forwards to getting to know y'all!
