        Hello everyone.

I am a 50+ year old man from Finland. My name is Kai. All technology fascinates me, especially electronics. My English language skills are not very good. I do understand the speech quite well and the text moderately. My first education is: Radio and TV mechanic (installer) in Finnish. And my second education is an electrician.

I wrote this text using a translation program. I hope that the text is understandable and I can be a member of the "Badcaps forum" for a long time. The reason I came to this forum was because I'm fixing my coworker's Microsoft Surface 1769 laptop. I'm looking for a connection diagram "schematics" and a picture of the motherboard with the placement of components "boardwiew" on the internet.

The backlight of the MS 1769 screen does not work at all. The machine starts and the image can be detected. The motherboard model is M1029273-001. I could only find this information on a paid service, from which I did not want to order it.

Thanks for this forum! Here I found the MS Surface 1769 thread with the M1088058-002 "Boardwiew" file. This is a different motherboard, but the display connectors are the same. So I got on with it. It would be great to get the Schematic and Boardwiew files of that correct device as well.

Over the years, I have repaired several devices and built computers.

The first computer we got to know the insides and functions of was an Amstrad PC with an 8Mhz 286 series processor and 640KB memory. The programs were loaded into the machine's memory from 3,5" Floppy diskettes. So this happened in the 1980s. You can see information about this "power grinder" from the link. https://www.computinghistory.org.uk/...trad-PC2086-S/

The machine originally had no hard drive at all. I installed that 40Mb hard drive and even managed to partition it into two different partitions. This computer could handle a maximum of 30Mb hard disk partitions.

Great that this forum exists. I hope that I could also help some users of this forum in the future.

Today, with the help of the internet, I was able to solve the update problem that plagued my Lenovo L560 laptop (this machine is only a backup if the other machines don't work).

The machine has been used by the company. However, I bought it from a private seller.

"Intel Managemen Engine firmware (FW)" installation failed with Lenovo's own "System Update" application. This update had already failed for a long time. Now it has been done.

I think this update problem is in many older Lenovo laptops. At least on the internet, I think the matter was discussed on several pages. But, at least it wasn't easy for me to find a solution to this problem.

The installation ends and the installer gives a notification: "The FW Update Utility couldn`t identify the system`s SKU (Consumer or Corporate). Please check your ME FW Update package and try again."

I think the problem on my machine was because a new hard drive was installed. When I got the computer, a new ADATA SSD hard drive had already been replaced and the operating system Windows 10 had been installed. The original operating system might have been Windows 7.

At this point, the laptop had the problem that if it turned off by itself or went into sleep mode, starting from the power button didn't always start the machine. There was nothing wrong with the power button!

I replaced the machine with a new Kingston SSD hard disk and reinstalled the operating system Windows 10 Pro. I updated the BIOS to the latest version (the machine's BIOS was old, i.e. the original BIOS version). I updated all possible drivers.

After all these steps, this "Intel Managemen Engine firmware (FW)" installation still failed with Lenovo's own "System Update" application.

Now this problem is solved! Yippee! Yippee!

        Best wishes!
