    Interchanging backlights.

    Hey guys!

I have a LG TV with very dim blueish colored backlight.

I have 3 rows of LED strips, with 8 LEDs on each. 2.8V each of them.

Can I change the whole rows with another backlight strip from a Samsung TV?

The LED's voltage is the same, only difference is that there are 9 LEDs on each row instead of 8.

Could the PSU handle it or should I take of 1 LED on each row to match the voltage of the original rows?

    Thanks in advance!

You didn't say what are the model numbers.
In any case, the best is to buy new replacement LED strips.
But if you want to experiment, up to you. Power supply controls LED current, so slightly lower voltage should be OK.

I know it would be the best, but I need to finish up this TV this week sadly.

You say slightly lower voltage is okay. How about slightly higher?

Like 67V on the LG LEDs and 75,6V on the Samsungs LEDs?

The lights won’t line up with the holes in the reflector sheet

original are best and available.you can use other brands back light but need to cut new hole in reflector sheet.
each lamp works on 3v.you can use 9 lamp strips.voltage is adjusted depending on feed back ,but margin is small.
or check voltage without strips when switching on tv it will rise up to 80 to 100v without load and then drop.if it goes above 85v you can use 9 led strips.

Thank you! Will check out the voltage on the PSU and if It's between 85 to 100V I will start cutting the reflector sheet.

              IT WORKED!

I checked the startup voltage of the backlight output on the PSU, it showed 140V. So I installed the Samsung's backlight strips without removing 1 LED from each.

I had to cut new holes on the diffuser paper for each LED, which was tedious but to my surprise it turned out pretty good!

In fact, the display shows almost no white spots because of the stronger LEDs, only in very certain situation...so they are barely noticeable.

white spot only visible when reflectors on strips have different height or shape or oily spots on lamps.

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
                  by Pipolups
                  Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

Samsung UE48H6410 replaced Mainboard but backlights doesnt go on
                  by max789
Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

                  I made the following tests:
                  1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
                  2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...

                  VIZIO M557-G0: Backlights or ???
                  by bpcannan
                  'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.

Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.

I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.

I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...

Samsung UE49MU6400 acts dead until disconnecting backlights, then works.
                  by jesterace
Hi everyone I have this TV which was dead one day when I tried to turn it on. I've had the cover off and there was just a pulsating/electrical clicking/ticking noise from the PSU. I disconnected the mainboard as sometimes this works to just fire it up with backlights on? That didn't help. Same noise. Then I disconnected the backlight cable from the PSU and the TV came alive. It appeared to respond to the remote and i'm pretty sure it's fully operational when there is no backlight connected.

However, I am in a dilemma.

I tested the backlight outputs with the lights disconnected...

LG 50lb6100 flashing backlights unsusual fix!
                  by rddube
                  Hello everyone,

Thought I'd share this find for the repair of an LG tv which had started to turn on but would only get flashing backlights. Backlights would flash at a few second intervals, and when I opened it, noticed that only the 3 bottom rows were flashing, the 2 top rows were completely dead. Replaced a few burnt leds (tested with my led tester), put everything back together, tested all led strips and they were all good, but again the 3 bottom rows would go into this flashing cycle.

Read all the discussions on the web and on Badcaps (wonderful forum!!) and...
