It looks like BLU_PWM is .9V, is this correct?

So, I would say you have bad backlights.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

you maybe right. cant get it into forced backlight mode. Today I suddenly got reading of 100v on center pin of that mosfet and diodes under it. Power cycle, then i get 500mV. On one power cycle it didnt automatically turn on like it has been, i had to use the power button to turn on. this unit is acting erratically.

Fired it up on a 100w dim bulb tester, bulb flashes bright then dims every 3 seconds.

ok, you see video, and have 388 on filter caps, must be the backlights.

Installed new backlight LEDs. With panel disconnected from microcontroller, on dim bulb, the backlight lights up, but only momentarily as it flashes on and off every few seconds. The bulb remains is dim in this case.

With panel attached to microcontroller the dim bulb flashes bright after the flash of the backlight. I do see blue LEDs light up on the TCON board now but only momentary before backlight flashes off.

ok, so if dim bulb tester doesn't stay bright thats good, I would try it without the dbt.

Ok the backlight is working. But I maybe messed something up. I did accidentally make small crack in a corner Chalk it up as a learning experience.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                Assuming...

                                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

                                by nathan425
Hello, I have a Samsung UN50EH5300 in my possession that I'm looking to bring back to life.

                                Symptoms:
                                • - no power
                                • - no standby LED

                                What I've done so far:
                                - confirmed power supply is OK
                                -- CN201 #4 showing 5.3V
                                -- BD207 showing 5.3V
-- removing the cable between the main board and the power board turns on the backlight.

Pushing the power button on results in no change to any of the pins connecting the two boards.

                                - function assembly appears to be NO GOOD
-- there is no voltage showing on any of...

                                by mrtek
                                Hi

Picked up another TV. Samsung UN43NU6950FXZA. No power and no standBy led on. Removed back cover and:
                                Main fuse = OK
Back light LED = OK. Power them with aux power source
                                LED output = OK 156V
I do get 12 V DC out of the power supply going to the digital section but no 5V or 3.3V. PS_on voltage is only 1.8V. I have looked everywhere on the PCB , I could not find i reference for 5V output.
Also removed connections to panel, speakers and remote but no luck. One strange thing is that even with the LED power supply working, backlight LED do not turn on...
