Re: Samsung UE49KS7000SXXH - No standby light

Thanks for replying B0r1s! I'll try this as well and see if it is a common thing for this TV.
As nomoresonys said it would've been better if you posted your solution immediately, but nevertheless thanks for replying so quickly.

I'll report back if the same fix works for me

Yes, you are right, sorry about that.. Thing is that after first failed attempt, i got discouraged, and leaved the tv unfixed. And after half a year i got interested to try again, and after some more research on youtube i fixed it. After half a year i forgot about this forum. Only after i got email that OTwisk was asking me something here few days ago i remembered.
      Sorry again.

        Hello!

I'm new on the forum but wanted to say thanks to the ones involved in this thread and also share my experience and references for this repair.

I encountered the exact same problem as B0r1s with the Samsung UE49KS7500U, the power board reference was BN44-00878A.

After testing with a mutlimeter, there was a side of the rectifier that was shorted. There was only one diode faulty, but I replaced the two that were in parallel by SB550 diodes that I found online.
I also added solder to the pads that connect the transformer to the power board, as advised previously.

The TV works for now, I'll update if it ever stops working.

Thanks a lot! This repair costed 7€, thanks to you, our TV works again.

Always good to hear from people fixing their stuff! Myy repair is scheduled now for later this month (repaircafe) but in the meantime I have encountered a different samsung TV from about the same time (2017) also with a broken solder joint on the transformer. Seems like it's a more common design defect.

Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT only standby light
            by Kaar3l
            TV: Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT
            PSU: BN4400940A
            MB: BN94-12832K

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
            by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

No Standby Light on Samsung UN65MU6300FXZA with Mainboard BN94-12440E
            by Michael Long
            I had a Dead Samsung UN65MU6300FXZA with Mainboard BN94-12440E
Dead / No Power / No Standby Light results after power company had three
consecutive power outages on/off/on/off/on/off after which TV was rendered unresponsive.

After exploring the issue found Mainboard was the fault. Then with research on this site determined IC1604 was the suspect. The IC1604 is a surface mounted device (SMD) EEPROM, Winbond Model 25Q40CLSIP. A read on this EEPROM came back with all FF FF FF FF FF in all registers blank and empty of data. I had a spare mainboard with intact IC1604 and utilized...
