Hisense 65H6570F Logo shows then turns off
Hello everybody,
I had this Hisense TV since November 2019 (Bestbuy Blackfriday special). Couple of nights ago my dad turned it off normally. In the morning it does turn on, shows the Hisense logo, then the LED light flashes and it turns off. It remains in the same state.
Things I have done:
A. Plug it off and on.
B. Plug it off, pushing the power button for up to 2 minutes, plug it in.
C. Contacted the customer service, They sent me a firmware update, with the file name:
upgrade_loader_no_tvcertificate.pkg
The zip file has this name, if it is of any value:
65H6570F_65A6101EU_L0424
and these instructions:
1. Follow the link above and download the file, [ ].zip. The file will be compressed,
so using a built-in or downloaded (i.e. Winzip) unzipping software, extract all files.
2. Locate the file .pkg. Copy and paste this file into an EMPTY FAT32 formatted USB Stick.
a. Please ensure that NOTHING ELSE is on the USB, ONLY the.pkg file.
b. DO NOT CHANGE OR RENAME THE .pkg FILE!
3. Safely Eject the USB from your PC by right clicking on the USB(on your Desktop or in your My Computer)
and selecting Eject , then unplug the USB from your PC.
4. Turn OFF the TV.
5. Plug the USB in to the TV s top most USB port(located on the rear of the TV).
6. Please unplug TV from wall and plug back in.
7. Press and hold the POWER button on the TV Remote Control,
once you see Software updating appear on the screen you may RELEASE the power button.
8. Please wait and let the Software Update process finish.
a. The Software Update Process will complete without any further user interaction.
b. The Process should take between 5-8 minutes.
c. Please DO NOT turn OFF the TV during this process.
9. When the update is complete, the Software updating Screen will disappear
and the TV will come up as it normally does.
10. Remove the USB from the back of the TV.
I have followed it, the stage 7 does not happen. The TV shows flashing purple line sections on the left of the screen. It turns off and on doing the same thing as long as I hold the power button.
D. I have kept pushing the power button on the remote as I plug it in, no difference.
E. Put the USB drive on the other port, no difference.
F. Contacted customer service again, they said change both the power board and the logic board.
I have access to a multimeter, soldering iron, and possibly an oscilloscope. I can do some electronics repairs but nothing too crazy. I appreciate any and all suggestions.
Thank y'all,

by taslanHello everyone,
as stated in the title, my surface 7 pro wont boot anymore.
When i press the power button it shows the square windows logo for a second and immediately turtns off again.
I dont even have a chance to get into bios or boot from usb.
While trying to find help online it was suggested to look for help/repair here on badcaps and it might be a ME Region corruption in bios.
I dont know what that is exactly, but i never tinkered with the bios or windows in terms of hacking/patching etc.
Bought it directly from microsoft and used it now and then and only... -
by frannyjunkSo I have this Hisense tv where the backlight does not come on. But when it is turned on, when I shine a flashlight on the screen, I can clearly see the splash screen then it turns off. I looked at the mainboard and was expecting to see bulged capacitors, but they all look fine. I unplugged the backlight from the mainboard, and get the same symptoms (i.e. no backlight, dark splash screen then just a black screen). Is this just a backlight issues? Do Hisense tvs turn off by itself if the backlights are unplugged or are bad? Or is this a mainboard issue?
TIA. -
by m1ch43lzmHi everyone
I noticed on the Xgpro software the BIOS backup files have extra bytes at the end when reading some chips, this is because the Xgpro software also reads the OTP region of those flash chips, and by default will append that region to the saved file
Programmer models: XGecu TL866II Plus / T48 / T56 / T76
Example: GD25LQ128D (1.8V), IC size is listed as 0x1000000 Bytes (16777216 bytes) + 0xC00 bytes, those extra 0xC00 bytes will be appended to the end of the saved file by default, resulting in a file size of 16780288 bytes
There's also an extra OTP Secu.R...-

by IIOSOHHi,
I'm trying to fix a Philips TV [46PFL5507K/12] for a friend. A few seconds after turning it "ON" a hourglass appears and stays on the screen for around a second, then the screen goes black again, there is no picture nor sound when i connect via HDMI to my PC.
I've opened it up and took a few measurements, but i can't seem to find the correct schematic for this exact model. The official service manual has detailed schematics and info for pretty much every other TV from the series but just some generic information about this exact part number so i measured... -
by dragometinTV Model: Hitachi 40HYC42
Power Supply: 17IPS71
MainBoard: 17MB95M
Panel: VES400UNDS-2D-NO3
When the set came in it was dead. Fuse was open primary side and the power mosfet was shorted. So I ordered a new power supply. Now it turns on, only displays "Hitachi" and then power off red and blue led flashing.
I had to modify the 0ohm resistors in the led backlight of the new PS like the original power supply.
Is there any variants on 17IPS71 power supply's?
