LG 42LC2RR HDMI audio distorted. Composite fine. Worked until today.

    Hi All,

I rescued an LG 42LC2RR TV from the trash and it's been running great for 3 months.

The last week there was a blast of distortion for a second when I played videos. Now the distortion is continuous.

I've tried two different devices (laptop and set top box) and two cables and all the same.

SCART to composite is working fine.

Changing the volume level on the laptop makes no difference to the sound level on the TV.

It's a shame because it's an old TV but the picture and sound are (were) great!

    Any ideas?

Yep. I tried a set top box over HDMI - sound distorted. Same box SCART plugged into composite on the telly and it's fine.

Seem to remember issues with EDID data causing sound issues through hdmi .. worth a Google search to download data

could try a factory reset, here's how to do it with the original remote, probably a way to do it without one, somehow: https://www.manualsdir.com/manuals/3...r.html?page=76

could try a simple one, unplug tv, hold power button on tv in for 30 seconds, let go, retry tv.

I tried the reset in the screen menu but it doesn't seem to do anything at all. Tried a few other things which didn't work.

I then tried holding down the power button with the TV switched on. After 10 secs it switched off and now the audio works again! It was a bit scratchy to start but seems OK now.

                Will see how it goes.

KDL-60EX500. Comes on fine, sound is fine, backlights come on. Blank screen. Already tried reset POWER/VOL-. Anyone else have this problem? Possibly bad T-Con RUNTK4244ZZ or panel? Could main or power supply cause this? There were 2 blown 560u 35v on power going to backlights but they were still working fine. Thanks for your help.

Dell ATX PSU won’t start, but forcing it works fine?

Got a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.

Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing. O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...

                    Dear Members,
This laptop used to work with a 19v 3.4A adapter.
After 4 years of using it, now, the adapter's output voltage drops to 17v when windows loads up. Then the laptop suddenly turns off.
Today, I have connected a 19.8v 4.5A adapter to this laptop. Then the adapter's output voltage dropped to 19.4v but the laptop worked fine.
In addition, I noticed that the cpu power coils get warm to about 50'C but the mosfets are cool.
All the voltage rails on the mainboard are fine without any reduction except for the 19v rail. All the ICs and coils on the mainboard are...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)

Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                    Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                    First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
                    by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....
