So i have a really old 42lc7d tv which had the caps replaced and the hdmi ports repaired. The tv still works well. The one problem im having is when i try to use the firestick, the firestick splash screen will come up and then the screen goes black. I tried all of the resolution settings on the firestick and none worked. Im thinking it could be a problem with the handshake. I know the ports work because other devices work on them. Im thinking a firmware update might fix it but i see lg removed firmware from their site for this tv. Im wondering if there is any online database for older firmware for this model or if a software upgrade will even fix it.

had a similar issue about 6 years ago with a sony kdl, its kind of hazy now, but every time I would pick hdmi then try powering firestick the screen would blank out, like maybe the mainboard just couldn't handle that extra stress or something, tv played fine from antenna also. I didn't have an extra hdmi device to try at the time I was messing with it, I think I replaced the mainboard to fix it.Last edited by nomoresonys; 03-24-2022, 05:14 PM.Comment

ya It works fine on another tv. I tried two firesticks on it actually and both did the same. Im not replacing the board. Not worth it in my opinion. It seems like after the firestick splash screen that the resolution changes and the tv cant adjust to it. Other hdmi devices work. The satellite receiver works fine.Comment

I have an Anker SoundCore 2 (A3105) that I saved from the trash (well, I guess there's a reason why it was supposed to go into the trash...). The problem is that it always turns off after a few seconds (sometimes it stays on a bit longer, between 30 and 60 seconds, but it still turns off). The power light turns on and the bluetooth light starts blinking, but both abruptly turn off again. The "turn off sound" is still played after the lights turn off. Hi guys.
I've got a Ubiquiti US-8-150W POE switch which has issues with updating the firmware.
Turned out to be a bad EEPROM chip. It would read the firmware and work as normal, but failed to write new firmware to it.
So I took off the chip and read on EEPROM and saved it. Wrote to old chip and failed to write
Got New chip and writes good.
THE PROBLEM...
It fails to fully load the firmware, POE lights fail to work during g firmware test during load. I'm suspecting bad EEPROM Read.
Does anyone have a Good Firmware I can have?... -
I'm currently repairing an MSI Vector GP66 12UHSO laptop with a motherboard reference MS-15441 ver 1.0. The EC chip (ENE KB9548QF2) on the board appears to be damaged and needs to be reprogrammed.
Can someone please send me the firmware (EC/Embedded Controller) or indicate where I can download the correct EC firmware version corresponding to this motherboard model?
I already have access to the BIOS downloads on the MSI support page, but need specifically the EC binary or its equivalent firmware image.

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.
The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...
