    UE32C5100QW Dropping signal.

Hi, this Samsung 32" TV keeps dropping out from the signal. Message that appears on screen is to check connector, co-ax cable, etc. I know the aerial & digi receiving equipment works fine as two other TVs we have work perfectly on the same gear.

I did notice that the signal input connection is not very tight & using an alternative HDMI input doesn't respond.

Just wondered if there were known problem areas before I take the back off & go poking about.

could it be the location, as in not getting a good signal, the tv that it works on did you have in same location as the one that is dropping signal?

So you are using the hdmi input to watch tv? if yes a possible cpu desoldering problem or maybe a hdmi port controller soldering problem

That looks distinctly possible as the problem exists with both the HDMI port & using a scart converter in that port. It seems not to have a positive contact, ie too loose.

The back is coming off later so I hope it will be an easy fix.

          Hi
Could somebody guide me as to what to check next?
This tv has slowly become harder and harder to pick up a signal from the aerial.
Sometimes if i leave it on long enough it will find all the channels and work great until the next cold boot.
Ive tryed another tv in the same aerial socket and it works fine.
Ive tryed the ‘faulty' tv in another working aerial socket and it doesn't find any channels at all.
There's no looseness to the aerial socket on the tv and checking inside on the power board and mainboard there's nothing obvious to see - its all...

Requesting Help For GA-970A-DS3 rev. 1.0, No Post code, no RSMRST# signal
          by AstutePauciloquent
Hi everyone, over the past few months i have taken a deep dive into motherboard diagnostics and I love the challenge. Currently im trying to learn all about the signals that travel around the motherboard, such as frequencies, enable signals High and Low logic states etc. And i have been learning to read and using the Schematics for this board that i requested here on Badcaps forum, from a few months ago, this is such a great place for these.

I’ve been working on a GA-970A-DS3 (rev. 1.0) that does not post. This motherboard has been my main learning board. I would like share...

Garage door RX unit (Cardin S38C) does not short relay to send opening signal
          by CoinCoin88
          Hello everyone,

I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver...

Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel
          by howardc64
          Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

          Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...
