came in power up and then turn off error code 5 blinks. I disconnected the T-Con board and it stay on with backlight. Check T-Con not getting any voltage at fuse. Change main board and the LED on panel light greenComment

With tv unplugged press and hold power and volume down buttons on tv, keep holding while plugging in tv you can let go when you see green light on front or tv starts up.Comment

Can try, with tv unplugged from power disconect one tcon ribbon cable at a time plug in tv check display, then do same on other side, to avoid problems always connect and disconnect cables with tv unplugged from power, report results.Last edited by nomoresonys; 02-09-2022, 05:55 PM.Comment

After that, maybe check the little caps on the panel driver board for shorts or very low ohms, there's other components on them that can go bad too, the caps are easy to check, probably expect over 100 ohms, if the panel is not easy to get at maybe try the tape cut-off method, been covered here many times, can put it in search above.Comment

Disconnect one of the ribbon cables from panel board to tcon board then check for image then the other side.Comment

Hi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.
I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. Made a mistake and ordered the wrong TCON board to replace in my KDL-46HX823, the board I ordered was Sony PLY 1-883-893-11 which is sort of correct.
But later realized this board is used in 4 or 5 models, any way the one i got sent was for KDL-55HX820.
Physically these boards are identical, everything on the board is the same. I havent put this board into the TV yet, but am I right in saying all i would have to do is copy the Epprom from my faulty board and transfere it on to the new board, or is there still something else that may stop this working....
