Samsung UN40EH5000F shutting down randomly I might have repaired time will tell

My son friend has this tv and the issue with is it turns off randomly for no reason ( this is what was reported to me about what the issue is )

Well I took off the back cover removed the switching power supply board and checked all of the 47uf@50 volt capacitor they all seem to have an ESR value of 0.24 and a new one has a value of 0.47 which to seem odd that all have values less than a new one has i replaced all four of them

But this is not all I found

First —>one of the switching power supply transformer pins had flux all over one of the pins so I heated it and even more flux came out of the soldering joint

But this was not the only thing I found

Second—>Two of power diodes all the pins had flux residue all over them and the same thing with these soldering joints more flux coming out from the soldering joints

Really product quality control are real shit

So far it has been running for about an hour now so let see what happens next

Sounds similar to one of my nt5b01 repairs. Only way to fix it was to take the inductor out clean the hole and resolder plus clean.

I ran it for 8 hours and it stayed on until I shut it off to come to work

I run it again when I get back home until I have to go to work

the discussion is useless without tv model.

This will be coming shortly tv model number

Because I have the TV set laying flat on the dining room table the cover is not screwed back together yet this is the reason I have not posted this information yet ( the stand is part of the cover on this TV set )

          An update

This TV set has been running for two different days for over 8 hours each time and so far has not shut down

So as far as I am concerned the issue has been resolved

I will take some pictures of both sides the board in question and point to each of the issues that I found these pictures are after it was repaired unfortunately I did not take pictures of it before I started the repairs because I was not completely aware of all of the issue with this TV set when my son first brought it home to me to look at it

Here are some pictures of this switching power supply board section of this tv

It still has a good picture on the screen forensics files on Pluto TV channel internet streaming

I have also ran it for over 24 hours in one session so it seems to be fixed correctly

One note the other capacitors were not replaced because they seem to within reason for there ESR value for the UF value of the capacitor in question plus I did not have those capacitors in my stock pile on hand

QNAP TS-469L NAS shutting down randomly
                    by spleenharvester
I bought this NAS as "turns on then straight back off again". When I received it it had no trouble staying on, just the RAM stick was in the wrong slot so it wouldn't POST. I was hoping that was all that was wrong with it, but it's now started randomly shutting off once a week. When I find it off it will fire straight back up again if I hit power, no need to power cycle. Nothing ever in the logs aside from "the last shutdown was unsafe".

It's got an internal PSU, an FSP250-50LC (which is wildly overkill for the hardware really). The electrolytic caps in the PSU...

                    by Maniackk
                    Hi,

I’ve got a stubborn patient here. The laptop powers on and works, all components like the screen, keyboard, touchpad, etc. are functional. The issue is that it heats up very quickly under load (within a few minutes up to 95°C) and then shuts down shortly after. Subsequent attempts to turn it back on right after a “hot shutdown” result in it shutting off within a few seconds. Interestingly, if I enter the BIOS, it can stay there for 2 days without shutting down (most likely due to low CPU load and low temperatures).

The cooling system has been cleaned, thermal...

                    ASUS GL552VW shutting down randomly.
                    by cha0swaver133
Hello there dear sirs, i have really weird problem in shop today.

As i mentioned, it's Asus ROG GL552VW that came with random (in idle, after 5 or 20 minutes, maybe every 3 minutes for few times, then working for 20 minutes again) shutdowns. Like, no restarts, no bsod. Proper shutdown.

I checked temps ofc, gpu is in idle in lower 60ties, cpu lower 50ties. There is no marking that would suggest water damage, no corrosion at all, no previous repair attempts. (Once was changed thermal paste in other shop, but that laptop worked for a year after).

                    It happens...

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14ADA05 NVME keeps randomly disconnecting
                    by pcwhiz24
This issue has me stumped! I have this Lenovo IdeaPad and the SSD (NVME) keeps on randomly disconnecting. It'll stop being detected in BIOS randomly and when I turn it off and back on sometimes it'll detect again and boot up just fine...only to crash after a few minutes and either boot again or stop being detected.

                    Things I tried so far:

                    - Reset the CMOS by removing battery, held power buttons 60 seconds, all that jazz.
                    - BIOS is fully updated (had to use CHA341 because I bricked it the first time trying to update it)
                    - Tried multiple working NVME drives...

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
                    by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....
