    Samsung QN49Q70RAFXZA Power Cycling Issue

    Hi all,

My Samsung TV display recently stopped working while I was playing PS4 (no storm or anything to indicate a power surge). I could still hear audio through the PS4 but no display. The TV kept trying to turn on but would turn off after a second or two.

I tried the obvious troubleshooting steps like unplugging, replugging, trying different outlets and power cords with no luck. Someone on another forum suggested that it may be a power supply issue so I purchased a replacement power supply board but that did not help. I then disconnected the main board from the power supply, and when I plugged it in the backlight would come on and stay on (implying that the power supply board is working). Next I reconnected the main board to the power supply board and disconnected the flat cables to the panel, and the power would stay on and I could hear audio through the tv and navigate with the remote buttons (although it would power off if I tried to load an app like Netflix with the button on the remote).

Based on the above troubleshooting steps, I think I've narrowed it down to an issue with the main board, the panel, or the cable connections, but I don't know how to diagnose any further. I've talked to a couple electronic repair stores in my area and have gotten very inconsistent advice, but it seems like it's pretty likely that it's simply a bad panel and can't be repaired. The last thing I want to do is bring it into a shop, have them charge me for 2 hours of labor, just for them to tell me that it's irreparable.

I also tried to purchase a replacement main board on eBay but the seller contacted me and said that the issue I'm having is common for the model and indicates a bad panel, so we agreed to cancel the order.

I'd appreciate any suggestions for how to further diagnose and troubleshoot this issue! I have a DMM and soldering kit if needed.

    Thanks!
    Drew

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Samsung Power Supply Board BN44-00874F
    by Nicktronic
    Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

    Anybody...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
    by Asraf Atb
    Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
    by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

    After all of...
