    50t32-soc xl bd short

    Hi everyone.
I have a 50" Toshiba tv that's showing vertical bars. I checked the t-con voltages and got vgh 24V and vgl -10V anyways I changed it with a good working t-con. I still have the same issue. I checked 50t32-soc xl bd and found a 100ohm resistor fried so I changed it. started the tv and it worked and I can see the logo...... but in a couple of seconds the same resistor got burned. I checked the rest of the resistors and capacitors, transistors and they're all seems to be good...Any idea what else can I do to try and solve this problem? Thank you!

Hey mate, what you did to solve the problem?

I have the same R075 (100 ohm) open. The other components seems normal (transistors, capacitors, etc).

PS: I'm from Chile and the problem is in an AOC, model LE50U7970, same panel with the same symptoms.

        Hi,
I see you have the same problem as me. I have the 100 ohms resistor which is open, R082 on the 50T32-SOC XR ( the other board). So i change it but the problem is the same. I haven't time to investigate more. I think to see again this week-end. SsimoR solved the problem. Could you tell how you solved it please ?
        Thank you.

You got to love when people don't post how they fixed a problem.
So remove that resistor check from shorted pad and locate shorts then remove one at a time until short goes away.

I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Remove the diode assembly D004 and R075 will no longer light up.

Asus ROG ga401IV motherboard - AC Short Protection resistor getting hot
                    by gaelican
                    Hi,

I am working on an Asus ROG laptop repair. I was able to find that there is a short on the motherboard, and the 20 volts from the charger only gets to the first mosfet before disappearing.

When looking around with a thermal camera, I noticed the chip marked "14C" in the picture was getting warm. Nothing else was receiving heat.

I found a boardview diagram and schematic for a motherboard that looks nearly identical, that has the same component. This appears to be marked as "AC Short Protection" with a value of 13.7KOhms.

Extreme High Current & Low Voltage Short Killer ??
                    by DynaxSC
                    Hi Folks

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.

I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...

Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
                    by jinu_j
                    Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

                    1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
                    2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
                    3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
                    4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...

Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu
                    by mikey5791
                    Hi to all forum members,

Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...

Hi! I'm back again... so I solved my previous issue but now it's back with a vengeance...

First, history... previous issue was dead motherboard, blinking power LED, no fan spin nor LED backlight, which was caused by a missing SLP_S5#. This was fixed when I replaced the RTC crystal.

Which brings us to the present. The screen started glitching every other 2 seconds. The screen corruption looks like the horizontal pixels/scan-lines are being shifted to different spots. This also happens on the BIOS setup. So I thought, "Okay, this might be my LCD since the thing has...
