    Vizio P65-F1 White Spots

    Vizio 65" P65-F1
Original issue: No power, no picture, no sound
Fixed the issue by replacing bad Main board 715G9370-M02-B00-005T (typical Vizio reflow issue) with 715G9370-M02-B00-005K
I realize the boards are not completely the same, but I have seen repair videos in which many do use different boards like this, so I took a chance.

Replacement board fixed original issue but now I see ( not sure how to describe this ) white glows in certain parts of the screen which will move depending on what is shown on the screen. This issue is clearly more obvious with black backgrounds but still noticeable in most screens.
To be clear, this is not the same issue I have fixed in the past with LG TVs where the LED lens fall off, these glows/patches/spots move depending on what is shown on the screen.
I could take pictures but it will be difficult.

What I have tried so far:
Removed and re-seated all ribbon cables especially the ones to the Tcon
    Factory reset
Through the Service menu Backlight Test
Removed main and made sure it was firmly in place with heatsinks lined up over thermal pads

    Questions
Could this issue be caused because of the T to K main board difference ?
Is there any sort of main calibration function that the TV can be put through so that it calibrates to the new Main ( if that even exists )?
Should I replace the Tcon ? Although usually when I have seen Tcon related issues the artifacts are static and not dynamic like in this situation.

    Thanks

I think replacement board is programmed for different LED pattern. What you described looks like dimming, but in wrong places. Try to disable auto-adjusting picture settings.

Maybe you can select different panel somewhere in service menu?

I think you guys are on the right track, I set the Picture Mode to Computer and now the backlight issue is gone. I will try later today to play with all the settings to see which in that mode caused the change..

I will also check the service menu to see if I can find anything related to panel.

Finally narrowed down the issue the Active Full Array feature under "more picture settings" . As long as I keep this OFF then does not matter which Picture setting I use.

Also found this article which is exactly my issue:

          Thanks for the help guys

Full array dimming is nice - when it works. You can probably get that to work properly by swapping the NAND firmware chip from your dead board to the replacement one, but if it works...

            A working TV? How boring!

I do have the capability to do that but the board is now long gone so I will just stick to not using the feature.. Still a good secondary TV
