Good morning, sorry me again. Same tv, similar issue.

Probably about a few weeks ago the TV seems to be locked up in a boot cycle. It turns on, no sound and then turns off and starts the whole cycle again. I've opened up the. back and can see the backlights turning on. Its funny though as when I disconnect the two straps connecting the left hard board (as you look on the back of the TV), the boot cycle stops and it does turn on and I can hear the boot up sound, however no video?

Any thoughts, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, we're not trying to melt the solder, just get some thermal expansion of the BGA.

Do you mean just getting a hair dryer and using that to apply hot air?

Yes, we're not trying to melt the solder, just get some thermal expansion of the BGA.

Thats great news the replacement board ixed the issue.
Reagding ficing the other board my guess as it would not take the fimware/software update one of the ics is faulty so may not be cost effective for you trying to repair it if you have not got the replacement ics/hot air station, solder/flux etc etc .

Fair point, probably trying to get too adventurous. You're right I don't have any of those items apart from the solder and flux.

So the board arrived this morning! I replaced the old one and the TV is back up and working!

Thank you both for your help on this, I had assumed my TV couldn't be repaired! Its fairly simple as well, as long as you get the right parts.

Can I ask if it's possible to determine whats wrong with the old one, can you test the various components in some way?

Did you try hot air on the main processor ?

Yes, they will come up for replacement, they have a corresponding part number, but it is cheaper for her to have a bent connector.
On the first link, he also has a 30-day warranty.

Good spot on that connector i was on phone so didnt zoom in (see it now im on laptop) so yes ignore the second ebay link!

Its the Smart TV motherboards. They are all very expensive.
