Im out of ideas. Any help is appreciated.

Backlights flashing I would suspect bad backlights. Did you remove the panel to observe the flashing to see if any are out?

Nope I still haven't checked the ccfl. I never have had bad backlight except for few sharp models. I think ill take it apart tomorrow and will report back.

To be more precise about the fault it looks like a bootloop(like its a software error) but there is sound.

Quick google search says the TV is LED and not CCFL. If TV is rebooting, then main board is suspect if standby voltage is stable.

This power supply PLHD-P982A is for a tv with ccfl's , Post pictures of YOUR board.
There is also a high voltage distribution board that will connect to the power supply high voltage to the ccfl's, they can develop bad connections in the connectors, or there could be a broken ccfl.

This is why Budm always ask that you post pics of the entire back of the TV. It will be obvious if the TV is CCFL or LED.

Here is a clear picture of my board. Its ccfl with a power supply + inverter. I also checked the transformer. The resistance of the windings looks good enough.

Is there any way how to disable protection for this board? I run few google searches but without any relevant result.Backlight Ic is OZ9977BGN.

With your meter probes on each leg of c607 is the voltage steady or fluctuating?

Does the set have Ambilight that you can turn off.

                Service manual https://www.manualslib.com/download/...l5405h-05.html

Page 78 shown connector 1M99 pin 7 as Backlight Boost. Perhaps the voltage at that pin is not steady?

Voltage on c607 is 390v and steady. That looks a bit high in my opinion but since it dosen't fluctuate I think its ok.

There is no ambilight. I did a visual check up on lamps and they all look fine, they tend to be pink if they fail.

1M99 Connector is CN6 that I have listed on my first post.
                  Code:
                  CN6- Connector on top
                  Backlight on - Backlight off
                  STATUS 2.8V - 0V
                  NC --
                  ADM 1.6V - 1.6V
                  DIM 3.3V - 1.7V
                  BL_ON 3V - 0V
                  GND --
                  GND--
                  12V 12V - 12V
Pin7 is GND in my case.

You used another "screen"? what do you mean? Did you Connect this lcd panel to another power supply and the ccfl's lit up ok?

I connected the power supply to another panel and same fault is happening.(backlight on-off).
Just to make sure I then connected a similar power supply to the original panel and the lamps stay lit.

It may be worth checking the orange capacitor close to R517
                            Also the HV capacitors C401 & C406

Also worth checking the solder joints looking for any cracked or poor joints on the transformers T701,T702 T703 or mosfets Q706 to Q709 and CN3, CN4 connectors

So i'm trying to replace the LED's in a Philips TV. It's 42" with a 715g7262-p01-000-0010 backlight driver board based around an O2 Micro OZ9902CGN.

My issue is when I replace all the LED's on one board with the new 3V 300ma ones they immediately burn out when the set is powered again. I previously tried the same thing with 6V LED's and the backlight flickered for a bit but wouldn't start.

The original LED's which I removed which are still working start to melt and burn when given more than 3V on DCPS so I know they shouldn't be higher voltage ones.

                                  ...

Trying to control Philips backlight manually with PWM — brightness increases with frequency...?
                                  by ohren
I raised the question of whether PWM on the power board "dim" pin would be a reasonable assumption for controlling the backlight of a Philips TV (55put6101/12): https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...d-tv-backlight. I didn't receive any insights there so I went ahead and tried it.

                                  The setup is basically:

                                  Rpi3 hardware PWM → 220 Ohm → NPN transistor → dim pin

Transistor is switching the 3.5 V supply on the power board....

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

                                  Hello everyone,

First of all, please excuse me as I'm quite new to this field.

I have a Philips 55PUS6804/12 TV. It turns on and off instantly (backlight flash). I personally think it's a backlight issue (faulty LEDs). Could you help me confirm my diagnosis?

I've checked and the T-CON seems to be fine. I disconnected one ribbon cable at a time at the bottom, but the problem persists.
The Ambilight works perfectly and stays on.

                                  No sounds.

                                  Thanks in advance.

TV philips 55'' no backlight (image ok).
I tested the backlight with my led tester from the unplugged connector cable and it lights up. I had voltages at the motherboard connector, but anyway I order a new psu. Same problem, same voltages. Disassembled the TV and checked every strip with my led tester, they all light up, same voltage for every pair of strip (they go two by two).
                                  What am I missing?

And something else I don't understand. I checked and I have 3v Leds, 10 per strips. Why every pair of strip (so 20 Led) take about 32v when powered up with my led tester 🤔
