Re: LG 55UJ6200 BEFORE & AFTER tape fix/fine tuning success
I don't want to remove it now since I've got a good image going, so here is a picture in case I change it. Appears to be first 12 pins covered.

Re: LG 55UJ6200 BEFORE & AFTER tape fix/fine tuning success
Ok I'll try if I get into it further, but for now I've noticed I can make the flicker go away if I use a smaller piece of tape. But when I do this the fine lines appear more noticeable. So it's a tradeoff between flickers or fine lines. I think I prefer the fine lines, flicker is much more distracting.Leave a comment:

You can try testing resistance of the MLCC (Multi Layer Ceramic Capacitors) on the tab bonding boards to see if any of them show low resistance reading.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 55UJ6200 BEFORE & AFTER tape fix/fine tuning success
After testing for more than an hour the flicker has returned. So the tv will function for the length of a tv show before it shows issues. Also I got the power on hour count wrong, it was actually 619 hours. How ridiculous is that for durability?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 55UJ6200 BEFORE & AFTER tape fix/fine tuning success
AFTER results. Also I have included a picture of the tape amount I used as well as a picture of the connector coming out of the mainboard in case someone can advise based on what they see for my next attempt.
The panel does not appear to be cracked but there is a short in it somewhere based on what I've heard from youtubers. These modern panels are flimsy if they can't even last 3 years under normal use. Total power on hours: 918Leave a comment:

LG 55UJ6200 BEFORE & AFTER tape fix/fine tuning success
I have an LG 55UJ6200 that cycles between sickly green, full color and back again with some lines and random banding at the top of the screen. After watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfrRhw7-ZII I was motivated to attempt this right away and got some pretty good success. I am using a huge piece of tape blocking a whopping 20 pins on the second cable in the tv. Only problem is after about 40 minutes or so the set gives a little random flicker - enough to be distracting. I am making this post to see if anyone has had a similar failure with this model and what pins are the ideal ones to block and which to never block. Might be quicker than trial and error.
Now in the video he is able to cut down his tape and isolate the issue to just one pin. Now that's difficult in my opinion as you must slice the tape off the cable and risk cutting the traces so I am applying the tape a little bit at a time. Here are the before pics.Tags: None

I have a Quantum SuperLoader robotic tape library that uses an IBM LTO 7 tape drive which is constantly complaining that it needs cleaning. If you insert a cleaning tape, it performs the clean and resets the cleaning counter to 0 hours. It should only require cleaning every 50 or so working hours but after as little as just 1 hours use it requests cleaning. We've purchased a new cleaning tape along with new LTO backup tapes but that has not resolved the problem.
I have taken the library apart and can see no noticeable signs of dust inside. I have removed the tape drive from the... -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by triplefourI've been seeing a lot of the new TVs (samsung and LG only i think) maybe 1-2 years old suffering from sudden panel death and have been over 50% successful bringing them at least most of the way back to functionality if not all the way, with the tape masking of the LVDS pins method.
add this one to the list. the issue was on the left side of the panel and i ended up blocking just 3 pins on the connector that joins the two panel boards that make up the left side of the panel (it has 4 boards total) i didnt get the picture back to 100% perfect. i spent hours fiddling with which pins to block...07-17-2023, 10:22 PM -
by mecha1166KDL-60EX500. Comes on fine, sound is fine, backlights come on. Blank screen. Already tried reset POWER/VOL-. Anyone else have this problem? Possibly bad T-Con RUNTK4244ZZ or panel? Could main or power supply cause this? There were 2 blown 560u 35v on power going to backlights but they were still working fine. Thanks for your help.

by CapLeakerGot a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.
Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing.O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...
