For re-flowing solder joints on powerboard if needed, just grab a 10-15 dollar soldering iron from a local hardware or a big box store, some even come with some solder included.

I would take the voltage readings at the power supply connector PD pins 1 to 24 when the set is working and again when you lose the sound.

Have you checked if audio is still available at the headphone output when you lose the speaker sound.

Unfortunately I was wrong about my statement of the speakers being attached to the power board, they are attached to the main board. I've attached an image of the block diagram.

Will not do this. Pretend I never said that. Is there a particular reason this is a bad idea?

Have you taken any power supply voltage measurements.

When the backlights and sound go off does the remote control still work.

With a bright light shone at the screen (at an angle) can you see if the picture still there.

Does the led(s) on the front flash?
I'll disassemble it tomorrow before work, and try to get some up-close pictures. Is there any areas of interest?

I haven't taken any voltage measurements. I'll try to do so but the intermittent style of the problem might make this difficult.

The remote control continues to work, and the TV continues to properly display an image. The backlight and image stays on, it's just a quick flicker and the image continues to work after.

  • Sharp LC70LE755U - Intermittent backlight flickering and loss of sound.

Hello everyone, first time posting here so I hope I'm doing everything right.

I just came into possession of a Sharp Aquos LC70LE755U. It was free for me, so with the stand and power cable I only have $30 in this. As such, I'm trying to repair it for cheap.

It works most of the time perfectly, except for an issue with what I think is the power supply. After anywhere from 10-30 minutes of usage, the screen backlight will flicker briefly, and the sound will completely stop working. The sound doesn't start working until I unplug the TV, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. In addition, at lower brightnesses, the screen backlight flickers randomly.

From my research I've gleaned that both the backlight and speakers are hooked up directly to the power supply board, and now I'm wondering where to start looking as to repairing it. I'm also trying to get a board for cheap and just swap it in.

ACER BM320 Monitor - Horizonal Flickering Lines After a While
    by reessi
    Hello,

The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..

They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.

Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.

I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...

Sharp LC70LE747 Flickering - darkening gradually to the right side
    by SmartSarah
    Dear,

I can not pinpoint the following problem on my Sharp TV LC70LE747E.
While the left side of the screen is not affected at all the right side of the screen gradually fades to a kind of dark. I can best describe this darkness like a totally worn out CRT display or a gamma correction totally out of range. This darkness flickers like a flame, a dark one tough.
Sometimes when I restart the TV it disappears for a while.
The problem worsened over time the last few months.

I've replaced the t-con module without success. The problem remains.

Fixing an I-Inc IF281D for the 3rd time, now with added flickering!
    by DrvLikHell
Hello everybody! It's been nine years and I'm back again with the same monitor that several people here helped me fix back then. The first time, I replaced two caps as was recommended here and the original problem was solved. Then it started acting up a few years later and I came back for a parts list and replaced a few more caps (I didn't make a post about that and don't remember which ones), and again the problem was solved. This time, however, I'm not sure if it's caps.

The monitor stays on but certain colors will flicker. Generally it's darker colors like dark greys or dark blues,...

    MacBook Pro 15" 2010 820-2850 intermittent charging
    by protocold
I would like to get some help on a 820-2850 logic board with intermittent charging problem. Sometimes the battery will charge all the way and sometimes magsafe would be cycling between green and orange.

I have already tried replacing dc-in board, swapping good battery, swapping genuine 85w chargers. None of that helps..

    when it is not intermittent:
    PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_R is 12.07v

    when it is intermittent:
When the light is green, PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_R is 12.99v
when the light is orange, PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_R is 11.62v

    data line on the battery...
