Hi again!
One more TV repair related.. This time it's a friend of mine's back projection TV, A Sony model KP-44PX2 which during operation, suddenly went dead.
All that is happening when pushing mains switch, is the stand-by led flashing continously. According to the service manual the stand-by led will flash in a special sequence (amount of flashes - a break then start over) which will give a fault code what's the problem. BUT - if the internal diagnosis fails to detect what is wrong, the led will flash continously, which is the case now.
SMPS seems to operate well. I suspect horizontal or vertical stages but since it doesn't drive the deflection for longer than one second, it's impossible to measure anything.
Any advice or discussion is warmly welcome!
Best regards
