    Panasonic tx-l47dt65b shutting off

Hi Lads, I have a problem with my panasonic tx-l47dt65b tv.
The tv will power up and work as normal for maybe an hour or two then power off and show a red blinking led continuously.

If I turn it back on the tv will work again but for a shorter period, like a a half hour and get shorter each time it powers off. Leaving it unplugged overnight will make it run for a couple hours again but same probelm persists. Does it sound like a power board issue?

Also when it does shut down it cant be turned back on with the remote, only by holding down the power button on the side of the tv for a few seconds.

Thanks for any help, would love to get this back working.

    Try a factory reset.

Probably look in setup and look for shipping condition, will have to set everything back up but might fix the problem, could also try a firmware update.

Well I tried the shipping condition reset and no change still powering off after a half hour or so. Any other suggestions?

A guess would be maybe one or more bad capacitors on the powerboard.

If you could post some photos of your circuit boards, well lit and focused may help.

If it looks like a heating up fault you could try some freezer spray or a can of Air Duster spray (used to clean keyboards) which if turned upside down does work as a coolant.

Maybe you can identify the components which when cool allows the set to run again.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

                Hi Dick,

I've taken some pictures, I hope they are good enough quality.

When I opened up the back there was quite a bit of dust on the powerboard I got excited as I thought that might be causing an overheat issue, but after blowing it off its still the same.

Also found the manual and the continuous blink is BL_SOS. Also from what I can see there are no bulging capicitors.

                Thanks for any help

When the TV is working, try setting the Backlights level (Not Brightness) in the OSD user menu to as low as possible and see if the TV will stay on longer.
