hi fellas. i picked a freebie locally it is a lg 50 inch plasma with display issue. tv turns on i can navigate thru the side button controls volume is good channel up down etc. looking thru the other postings on this system there seems to be a variance of different issues with this model. any direction as what would cause this display issue. sorry my pics are sideways as i don't have the stand and the darn thing weighs a ton. Thanks.

Looks like and older one, I’ve had mainboard failures countless amounts of times with this model-BGA solder fails on the CPU due to poor cooling, disconnect the main LVDS cable and on the control board P6 or Auto Gen you need to jumper pins 1 and 2 and the display will show a series of different colours. Re: LG 50ps60 Plasma Grainy/Fuzzy Horizontal
I would try re-seating the flex cables between the panel and the buffer boards, I would inspect them for damage incase the last person was not careful with them. That might clear up some of the lines, If not I would check the buffer ic's for shorts.Last edited by R_J; 03-01-2021, 12:22 PM.Comment

Buffers I’ve seen mainly cause no image at all when they fail on these I’ve had a few but wouldn’t rule it out, doubt the set would run with both cards that bad.Last edited by ReeceyBurger123; 03-01-2021, 01:25 PM.Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. by CyberNinjaFirst, the black horizontal lines even overlay the TV's menu. Does this behavior indicate that it's the plasma panel that's defective? If not for the black lines, the TV works just fine. I've cleaned the 6 connectors between the panel and the Y-buffer board, causing no change in the black lines. Visually, the 12 ICs on the Y-buffer look brand new (no holes, etc.). I put my fluke meter in continuity mode and tried to perform the "short" test on the 6 panel ports and found many shorts. But I don't think I'm doing the "short" test correctly and I'm hoping someone can provide guidance....

by IhandyrepairHi guys
I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.
never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the... -
by jmandawgHi I picked this up on the side of the road. It has black horizontal lines on the display. It's it repairable?
I looked for bulging caps but didn't see any.

I have a 2011 Panasonic Plasma HD 3D Viera model notorious for the SC board failure. As per a Google for the dreaded 14 blink code I discovered from info on this forum about isolating suspect boards by disconnecting the power cables and using an ohmmeter on the power terminals and this led me to the SC board. I had it repaired by a nearby technician who replaced the shorted transistors and before I got the board back I wondered if any of the buffer boards are damaged and a YouTube showed how to test these by using the ohmmeter and removing the copper colored ribbon cables to the display and use...

by shelby5041hi i have a lg plasma tv that powers on fine and has a great picture and sound but after 15-30min parts of the picture start going grainy
if i split the tv screen up in 10 sections horizontally with 1 being bottom and 10 being top ...i would say the 2 groups of areas that go grainy are section 9 thru 10 and section 2 thru 5
but the odd thing is that both groups areas go grainy off and on...but both at the exact same time on and off
and when the image on the screen has a lighter background the grainy picture areas 9-10 and 2-5 goes away... - Loading...
