Apex CRT TV - Blue Screen

Hi,

Got a call from a friend that is having problems with an Apex A72704S (Chassis CH-10C).
Worked great one night - next day it's only showing a blue screen on the cable input. I searched the web for common problems and if the parental lock is turned on you will see a blue screen with a red key. They do not have the red key and the lock is not turned on. External video and audio inputs work ok and other tv's will work on this cable connection.
Is this a common problem on this model / brand tv?

It appears that the tuner module has failed.

I'm not in the TV business full time so I'm unsure how common it is. In general, tuner failure is rare.

Just for practice, I would inspect the solder connections on the tuner. If the voltage supplied/applied is marked, I would test that it is correct.
Good luck in getting any tech info on this product line. I have yet to see an Apex schematic or any other service information.
