Software issue much probably, needs reprogramming or file fixing, usually only way is mainboard replacing. Is it a smart tv? -

If your lucky enough for the set not to have the latest operating system firmware installed , an upgrade should restore functions .
If you cannot recover it , there's a company in the United Kingdom called Micro tech , that offer a repair service .
They may even advertise the service on EBAY.UKComment

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)
I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,... -
Hello all just wondering if anyone knows how to do a hard reset on this model, XVR58C-21D-8CH-V1.1 ?
There are videos on youtube for every other model but this one, I do not have the switch on the board or reset jumpers.

I do have 2 little pads right next to the firmware chip, I have shorted these and powered the system on and waited a wile
with no luck. I will add picture of these 2 pads.
I do have the bin file from the firmware if its any good to anyone maybe able to edit out the pass I am not sure.

Diagnosed this TV as having a failed main board which I've replaced with one from a KDL 55HX850. They are (supposedly) the same board.
Being 'Smart TV' it requires a firmware reboot when you swap out boards such as T-Con or main board. It starts with a black screen and flashing yellow and green LEDS, indicating it needs that firmware boot. The procedure described all over the web is to put the software into the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and it should load that up once plugged into USB1 port. But not for me.
