    Replacing nand/flash chip on TV's

Hello , i was wondering how would i go about replacing nand chips on TVs?
Recently i had a few tvs that i couldnt fix because one had a corrupted nand chip and one just kept rebooting *psu fine) . Can i just find a random nand chip , solder it on , then boot with usb firmware ? would it update or do i need to Pre-write the chip before soldering it?

No, you can not use an empty nand and start the tv up via USB. Firmware is used to update and that is much different. For example i have a few Sony's with more than 12G software inside the nand, the firmware is only 1,2G

      Hi,
for re programming a nand or emmc chip,
You should remove it and place on universal programmer and burn a good dump backed up file and re solder it again exactly in its place.
or in some circuits you are able to do onboard programming by some universal programmers without removing it as JTAG.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
        by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

        Asus laptop EC/SIO chip replacement
        by ebugs
Asus Vivobook 15 (board X513ea R2.0) gone dead when user plugged an iPhone cable into the USB-C port during boot. Now there's no LED light, no power at all. I checked all MOSFETs and capacitors, no shorts found. The board only has 3.3V and 5V present, no other voltages.

I injected 3.3V into the EC chip power rail (ITE IT5125VG 128), and it draws 80mA, while the 3.3V LDO chip RT8249C has a max output of 100mA. I checked the boardview and found there are only two chips on this 3.3V rail, EC and Realtek audio chip. So I think EC could be the problem.

        I found the EC chip...

[Help] Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 (DA0LS3MBAF0) – 25Q80DVN1G Flash Is All FF, USB-C PD Stuck at 5V
        by ekozeko333
        Hi all,
I’m trying to recover a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 with board DA0LS3MBAF0 Rev:F. I’ve run into an unusual issue where USB-C PD is stuck at 4.7–5V and the system won’t boot (keyboard lights flash briefly, then nothing).
🔥 The Problem Started After Suspected ESD/PD Fault
I experienced a power issue or ESD event through a USB-C charger
After that, the NX20P5090 power switch was visibly burned and was replaced
Now the PD controller always negotiates 5V @ 2A, even with known-good chargers
🧠 What I’ve Done So Far
        Flashed...

NP930XED Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro Laptop PD Firmware Loop
        by sikocan
        Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a recent experience I had with a laptop that had a Type-C Port issue, specifically related to a PD (Power Delivery) controller problem. After replacing the damaged PD controller chip with a new one I purchased from AliExpress, the laptop now charges properly and negotiates power as expected, allowing the device to power up. I've replaced this chip twice just in case.

However, it seems that the laptop's BIOS is detecting an older version of the PD Firmware on the newly installed chip. As a result, it attempts...
