Broken ribon cable connector in 42" Plasma TV

Sort of a general question... not sure it belongs here.

While troubleshooting a 42" Plasma TV I accidentally broke one of the ribbon cable connectors on one of the x buffer/driver boards.

The connector itself is damaged as well as the latch.

What I'm trying to figure out is how to fix this. I'm not sure what this connector is called exactly so I'm having trouble finding a replacement.

Attached a pic of the main control board with one of the same kinds of connectors circled in red.

You might be able to put the connector like it should be and try hot glue to hold it in place.

Seems the latch (flip locking thingy) applies some downward pressure on the cable in order to force a better connection. I've tried a couple of different ways to ghetto rig it and nothing is working well enough...

anyways, I stumbled across a service manual for this TV and according to the parts list, the connector is a 50 pin ribbon cable connector with a .5mm pitch.

Found this at digikey... I think its what I'm looking for:

Now comes the fun part... I've removed and replaced a few small smd components here and there, but nothing like this.

I didn't know they even sell parts like that, but I wish you luck on replacing it.
