I think it ruined the output traces on the tabs, so don't expect much, check the green side of them..

It certainly would cause problems. Hopefully a good clean and the set will be back in good order.

I took part of the bottom bezel off and discovered a sticky substance on one of the I believe their called tab bonds maybe someone spilled something .....could this be an issue?

I will be cleaning the area up and testing.

yes.. so basically,, if you detach tcon from the large screen boards , then you flip them you see the green part of the tab where there is a chip, ok you must put a shim under it provisional, then you put eveeverything normal and you warm under the chip especially in the zone that makes appear again the missing lines, so this test at tv switched on, i have near reapaired one this way.

Try wiggle or shake the video input cables, see if that helps.

How do I test the T-Con board to confirm it works or not?

When I disconnect the 2 ribbon cables that leave the T-Con board and go to the panel the lines go away......not sure if this means anything?

Only repeating lines/patterns may be tcon issues. Single random vertical lines or bands are bad panels.

I think it's a bad tab bond, try tapping on the bezel, NOT the screen where the line is, see if the line goes away or changes any.

    Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
    by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

1/3rd of screen black with occasional vertical lines - repair attempt for learning! - Kogan KALED58RT9220SVA

Thanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.

The issues are as follows: the...

vizio e65 e3 LED tv color vertical lines center tv only
    by viking509
I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...
