    Insignia NS-48D510NA15 No Backlight

Newbie here. I have the Insignia NS-48D510NA15 with no backlight. I was able to take it apart and used two 9V batteries in succession to test each strip. One strip appears to be bad, as I could not get it to light up. Is this a valid method for testing each LED strip? Should I assume when one strip is bad, none will light up? If so, should I replace the one bad strip or all of them? With only one strip not working, could it be something else? Thanks for any help. As I said, I am a newbie with TV's, so any help would be appreciated.

Please provide good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together, also good clear pictures of the power supply board (connectors in place).
How many wires are there on the LED connector?
If the LED strips are connected in series to form one large LED string, then yes if one of the LED is bad, or bad connector that links the strip is bad the whole LED string will not light up. But right now we cannot tell hoe all the LED strips are connected together.

Which is the power supply board and the LED connector? Thanks for the help. Sorry, I'm not sure how to post pics.

OK, I only see two wires on the LED connector for the LED string, so the LED strips are connected in series, so that is why when one strip went out due to open LED then whole string of LED will not light up.

Which means in all likelihood this is the only issue? If so, I suspect I should replace all the LED strips? What is the best place to buy LED strips? Thanks for all the help.

If you do get sound and able to see image on the screen using flash lights then more likely the only problem is just bad LED.
There is a link in one of this forum some where I just do not remember for the good place to buy the whole set of LED strip. You should verify that the strips are made for your LCD panel model number.
One you done with the repair you will need to low down the backlights level (not Brightness) to as long as you can to extend the life of the LED since the TV manufacturers always drive the LED at max rating or beyond the spec.

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

              Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

Insignia NS-43D420NA20 backlight on no display - LCD panel burn failure
              by howardc64
Eventually discovered a burn mark near lower corner of LCD. Here is a summary
              • Backlight on, no image
              • Disconnect right buffer board (view from front), left side display comes on
              • Masked off pin 7+8 (both ~12,5v on both left and right buffer board) from t-con to right buffer board (view from front) display works but have some lines
              • Buffer board is pretty simple
Removed the front bezel to examine edge of the glass. Found burn mark on lower right (view from front). Plastic bezel covering the burn mark region shows heat signature on the inside surface facing the LCD panel. Last 2 pics. Bright...

              Insignia NS-32L430A11 backlight issue
              by arnard
I have a weird backlight issue on the above Insignia Plasma that I am coming up empty on researching.

The display is darker on the left than on the right side of the screen. It uses 4 U shaped plasma tubes. I have had it apart deep enough to tell you that the tubes are bright as they should be at the electrode ends but dim as they get to and go around the bend.

Since it is all 4 tubes it seems like it would be an inverter/backlight board but obviously can't be a blown up component as it does still somewhat work. I'm thinking low voltage but no idea where to go beyond...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
              by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...
