    Samsung plasma ps43d451 5 blinks

    Hi guys, ive been troubleshooting a samsung plasma tv. Ok heres the interesting part. relay clicks on, and off, 5 blinks thereafter and it recycles the same pattern.

    I have disconnected one by one

    Tcon
    X board
    y board

    Still same, 5 blinks. I checked all the voltages on power board, when it clicks all the voltages are accurate according to the specs then it disappears when it clicks off. Seems like ive done all the troubleshooting here and it all narrows to a main board. Anyone else had this problem before?

      Ok heres another update: I tested only the power supply, shorted PS ON to Ground, Then checked all the voltages that goes to the main board, all good and accurate. Tested voltages to Tcon, all accurate.

      BUT, VA, VS voltage going to specified voltage upon turning on, then goes down fast. Is this normal without anything plugged in? Or it should be stable even with nothing plugged in?

          Another quick update

          Ive kept the PS ON shorted to ground on PSU, plugged everything to power board except mainboard. Shorted pin 1 and 2 jumper on tcon for test pattern auto gain, walla. Theres test picture. Tested power supply voltage VS and VA, stable and all good. So this confirm main board faulty. Will update here once i replace the main board

              Replaced main board, tv working perfectly now Hope this helps others as well to troubleshoot.

                  I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                  Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                  I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                  The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                  With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  I picked up this TV from Facebook Marketplace, original owner described it as "screen went black after a pop" and I hoped to see an obvious fuse or cap to replace. Doesn't seem to be the case, but my experience and electrical knowledge are kind of limited for this.

                  The power board (BN44-00445A, see attached) turns on and Vs and Va seem to momentarily have power, then they steadily drain to zero over a minute or two as if they're only getting power from capacitors. I've been measuring Vs and Va from the test pads, with and without the other boards connected to the power board...

                  I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

                  I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

                  The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

                  Summary for TL-DR readers:
                  • Backlight is intermittent, may come on with TV boot or not. No flickering, never fails during TV on.
                  • Have obtained Samsung schematic & service documents - Can upload if helpful.
                  • Have read ALL applicable threads
                  • C1818 and CP820 replaced as low hanging fruit
                  • CN802 data taken for normal and failed BL operation. SUMMARY: Pin 2 - 5vDet = 3.52 @normal, 0.0 @BL fail. Pin 6 - EPWM = 1.631 @normal, 1.058 @BL fail.
