Need flyback part number for a Sony KV-32FS17

Don't you just love it when the part number sticker falls off?

Well that's what has happened with a TV with a suspected bad flyback. Its a KV-32FS17 and if anyone knows what the pn is I would really be happy.

decent parts dealers can figure that one out by tv model number alone.

i thought of google, but decided it was too much work if my dealer should know it already, and while there he can ship it etc.

Google is less helpful than you might imagine...... I get parts for the KV32FS16...but not the FS17.

I'm not going to blindly assume they are both the same units in regards to the mainboard.....even though they probably are. The parts house is getting a call on Monday.

Good investigation. Sony tend to change last two digits if alterative part is available.

Oh yes, be PREPARED for extreme sticker price shock. Sony fly are most expensive.

We're usually seeing 100 to 150 and even more for Sony fly. Average price from other makes like JVC, RCA, and excellent fly makers HR Diemen range from
              20 dollars to high 70.

Not much has changed in 25 years. Sony -always- sticker shock. No subs other than like this. Seems like they build the flys first, then the rest of the set around them...

Sony parts are always expensive I remember when I was fixing PS2s KHS-400C lasers were about 70 dollars each!!! Refurbished ones (focus coil replaced) were $50 but I never had much luck with them.

While comparable lasers for the original Xbox were 15-30 bucks depending on the drive manufacturer.

Both of these were plain old DVD drive lasers but one of them had Sony's name imprinted on it .

i have been using the hr replacement flys whenever possible.had a sony tv i installed an original sony fly in for a neighbor.died in a year.used an hr replacement and its still fine 2 years later.
started using hr for hard to find industrial monitor flys.

I needed a flyback for an old GE set I got a third party substitute from Suburban Electronics that worked great.

I tend to treat substitute flybacks like substitute semis from NTE only if the original part isn't available. Then again if you can find a manufacturer that makes quality replacements that's another story.

HR Diemen are PREFERRED. Anything else of generic fly are OUT, been bitten more than one by generic junk. (HV not stiff enough (pic size changes wildly with brightness of picture and wrong raster height). Using HR Diemen fly allowed for straight swap without adjusting at all.

I ended up using a HR Damien fbt for rca F36650 36" tv due to oem no longer avail, along with the 2SC5148 horizontal output transistor. The power supply had folded back and the HOT was screaming as soon as I plugged in the set. Very common problem with this model tv.

the cheap generics give the sort of problems that wizard describes.
and they dont hold up either.
next trick is getting a genuine 5148.market is flooded with remarks.

Thanks folks! The reason I suspect the FBT is the fact that the customer complained that the image shifted horizontally a few minutes before the HOT bought the farm.

Then again, there were cold joints all over the place.... quick poll: change the FBT and the HOT or just thrown in a new HOT?

ring it and see if it passes.problem with sony tv's is that they get a cascade failure where the hot goes and the power supply goes right behind it.BANG!!!

Hi i have a smd part with probably mark "QO 11" or "Q0(zero) 11" on it, and its package is SOT89, i doubt its KTB1260 PNP transistor, but in measuring with diode mode of multimeter it shows number 1.4 between emitter and collector pins and its not open circuit, and .59 from collector to base and .8 from emitter to base , and these numbers doesn't match a pnp transistor, i couldn't find any part number and datasheet for it, does anybody have information for that part number?
I've attached pics of this part
                                    Thanks...

Panasonic part number in service manuals
                                    by Yanleb
In the Panasonic service manuals, both in the board schematics and in the part listing, the part numbers that are given are Panasonic part numbers instead of the actual part numbers.

This is especially annoying for small SMD components like diodes and transistors when you only have 1-3 digits printed on the component body.

For an example, look at the attached PDF.

Do you have a way to cross reference the Panasonic part number with the actual part number?

                                    Thanks....

Hi all, a newby question about a bridge rectifier I'm trying to identify.

I'm in the midst of reparing a battery charger in work which went pop, The bridge rectifier has shorted and took out a couple of other components. The rectifier in question has a part number KPB305G, and it looks like it's obsolete. Does any one know what I could replace it with?...

                                    Hello everyone.
Is there any chance somebody can find the part number of this chip or equivalent, in the attached photo?
It is from PS5 EDM-020 board, in the front usb section, near F3502.
It must be a Richtek ic, vqfn32 package style.
                                    Thank you in advance....
