Hitachi LE55U516 - Vertical lines - Not always present

    *** Board Photos here : https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=LE55U516 ****

TV Works fine, but there are thin vertical lines (not necessarily all the way from top to bottom - sometimes top to 1/3 or 2/3 of the screen) and these are not always there. They seem to come and go depending on the type of picture, colors,...

There is no firmware update for this model per the manufacturere.
I did a full factory reset.
When I got it, it had bad backlight (a couple of bad LEDs) - fixed these only to find the vertical lines. I Reseated ribbon cables, and no change.
I always thougth vertical lines are panel issues. Any thoughts?

I had a tv not long ago that when I tightened up the frame around the panel it had to be just right, too tight or loose and would have thin red lines was tedious but got it right after some adjusting.

So this is a bit different I think.. flexing or moving the TV really has no effect. With or without cover, doesn't matter either.

Could this be a Tcon or Main board issue??

Maybe clean the ribbon cables and check for good clean connection of lvds from tcon to mainboad, sometimes just unplugging and re-plugging clears things up.

Try powering up one side of the screen at a time by disconnecting each ribbon cable, one at a time and see what you get on display.(always disconnect and reconnect cables with power cord unplugged to avoid any damage)

thanks.. No luck.. I still get these vertical pixels (can't really call them lines because they don't extend from top to bottom) now and then..

Make sure the connectors are aligned right, could be a bad lvds or tcon ribbon cable, maybe check the MLCC caps on the driver board for very low ohms. Could be a mainboard issue, weak/bad cap or something. The"tape cutoff" method might work.

                  Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                  by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                  by gpo23
                  Hello,

                  i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

                  Thank you for your help

vizio e65 e3 LED tv color vertical lines center tv only
                  by viking509
I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...

Vertical Lines on Half of LCD Display
                  by rfxcasey
I have an Siemens HMI with vertical lines on half of the screen. These lines aren't scrambled garbage but rather very regular in pattern and color. I have replaced the LCD with a new one and still the problem persists. I'm wondering if this isn't indicative of a bad video process chip or video memory? Any help would be appreciated. The cable appears to be OK but one pin on the header is unpopulated, though there isn't any loose wire to suggest one broke off or popped out of the connector. In the picture below where the connector is busted out of the side, I did that with my small screw driver...
