Just starting in this field of repairs. I got this tv to try and see if I could repair it. When it is turned on it will search for a display source and finds the pc vga that i'm supplying to it. The screen comes up and has a good picture, but then starts to pulse with short brighter bursts. Has anyone run into this problem and can direct me where to start looking.

by DannyxGood day folks. I thought I'd share with you something I did today, just for a laugh and for a bit of a discussion, since I'm still not entirely convinced what happened there.
I found an Akai LT-3220AD TV in the dumpster - literally - so me and my colleague brought it back into the shop and dusted it off a bit to see if someone maybe gave up too soon.
Long story short: backlight came on but had no picture. My colleague attempted to reprogram the SPI chip but it didn't change anything, so we concluded it must be the panel that's faulty, especially after reading about it...01-29-2024, 10:12 AM -
by GenaugmenI got this akai MPK 261. Had no power from USB. Optional Power adapter caused some light smoking, so unplugged and disassemble to get to the main board. There are two surface mount inductors near the power input. One look obviously damaged, removed both for replacement. Then there's this IC a few components away (pictured) that I can't identify. I've done plenty of plenty of surface mount component work, so replacing it isn't a problem. Any insight into what this could be would be greatly appreciated....

by sumilumiHi fellow troubleshooters. This is my first post on badcaps. I've recently setup an electronics workbench. i'm also building a studio with old equipment bought faulty at low cost.
I've been into electronics since the mid 80's and particularly in the last few years though only getting hands on with repairs now. My knowledge gaps are significant so I'll be posting here to seek guidance advice and general practical applied learning.
On my bench today is an old ca. 1993-95 Akai hardware sampler. This runs on both a linear and Smps supply. Both are getting on in age and ripple... -
by dokmaI'm looking at buying this faulty monitor. This fault doesn't look like a panel issue. I suspect it is something with signaling. A bit of your experience would be greatly appreciated....

by alltvrepairsHi,
The original fault was set not loading completely and reboots. I have downloaded a firmware on usb, tried the upload but midway says incorrect spftware and shuts down. I have blank raster now.
Anyone has experience on this mainboard?
