Akai MPK 261
I got this akai MPK 261. Had no power from USB. Optional Power adapter caused some light smoking, so unplugged and disassemble to get to the main board. There are two surface mount inductors near the power input. One look obviously damaged, removed both for replacement. Then there's this IC a few components away (pictured) that I can't identify. I've done plenty of plenty of surface mount component work, so replacing it isn't a problem. Any insight into what this could be would be greatly appreciated....

Lenovo G50-45 Unresponsive when HDD installed
I have a Lenovo g50-45 that is unresponsive when a internal HDD is connected. It was just horribly slow, but now it hangs the system after the Lenovo splash screen. When I got this machine it had overheated BADLY, the plastic casing over the cpu had warped from heat due to a bad fan. Also, the HDD was failing. Replaced both, but hard drive performance was dismal as was response in windows. After a bunch of messing around with it, discovered that the laptop operates normally with no HDD attached. Now, unresponsive when hard drive is attached. Stops responding after the splash screen. Anyone have...

Re: Vizio e420i-a0 backlight flashes, then black
So I guess my fix is to replace with a new set of leds?! I've seen guides on testing individual led, and I've replaced them in a set before. Just wanted some confirmation on my own assessment sounding correct. As far as the led strips I can't find them for the e420i, but I see plenty for the e420(without the "i"). I'm assuming that they're most likely the same. They look exactly the same. $16-$20 per single strip.

Vizio e420i-a0 backlight flashes, then black
When powering on, backlight flashes on (very brief flash, you can just catch the vizio logo center screen), then no backlight. Power light also fades after about 15-20 sec, but I hear that's simply how this model operates normally. Everything remains powered up, and pressing the power button again, power led flashes and the set powers off. When I power up the set I get 129v on both led leads that slowly settle down to a constant 66v. It only hits 129v on that initial flash, and begins dropping immediately. On the connector from the psu to mainboard I get OFF 5.?v on the first two pins (usb), 0v...
