desoldered pin 8 from tda1517p then jumped pin 8 to pin 7 . now the audio works fine . even the mute function still works which surprised me .

Re: Technika x19/14c-gb-tcd no audio solved .
The mute function is likely muting the audio signal prior to the input of the tda1517p, Or the mute could be switching the supply voltage on and off, which they do in some models
Pin 7 is the supply voltage for the ic, Pin 8 needs to be above 8.5 volts to turn the ic on, You likely have a fault in the line that controls pin 8Last edited by R_J; 02-16-2020, 04:58 PM. -
Re: Technika x19/14c-gb-tcd no audio solved .
seem to remember pin 8 was around 5v .
there seems to be more going on as before the mute wouldn't work before .the icon would come up then disappear and now icon stays on and audio is muted until next press of mute button .
i guess its some crap going on with the audio processor .
an odd thing i noticed with pin 8 whilst its disconnected audio can be injected into it like an audio in.
all academic now as tv back with my friend .it's only a spare waiting for his main tv to stop working altogether . that one reboots itself randomly . thats an old sony abot 40 inch pre digital one that has far more going on inside it than more modern tv.s its that old its silver .Last edited by petehall347; 02-16-2020, 05:24 PM.Comment

Re: Technika x19/14c-gb-tcd no audio solved .
If you look at the datasheet for the ic, pin8 requires 8.5 volts to turn the ic on, so 5 volts would not have done it. but 5 volts would have brought the ic out of standby (see page 8 of the pdf) Injecting audio into pin 8 likely just turned the ic on.Comment

Re: Technika x19/14c-gb-tcd no audio solved .
thing is it shouldn't be able to go into mute mode now i shorted it to pin 7 .pin 8 is always high .
ph i confess i did not inject audio .i touched it with my finger and got a nice hum from the speakers .Last edited by petehall347; 02-16-2020, 05:51 PM.Comment

Re: Technika x19/14c-gb-tcd no audio solved .
The auido output will be fully turned on if you connected pin 7 to pin 8. I suspect the ic is likely ON even when the tv is turned off if the there is voltage on pin 7. The audio will be muted elsewhere, likely with transistors on the input to the ic or in the audio processor ic.
This "mute" function is not to mute the audio but to (internaly) turn off power to the audio output ic to conserve energy. It could also be to prevent a pop in the speakers when the tv is turned on and off
It could be that the voltage going to the ic is always there, even when the tv is in standby and all they do is switch pin 8 on and off.Last edited by R_J; 02-16-2020, 06:10 PM.Comment

never tested voltage when in standby . i don't think he will really notice his electricity bill being higher .Comment

The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.
The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...2 Photos -
by i_am_patchHi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...

by MOSSEPHi
Im hoping someone might be able to give me some idea of what may be wrong with my Monitor Audio RSW12 Sub.
Ive owned it since new in around 2002, so would really like to keep it running if I can, it was the first ‘decent' bit of audio equipment I ever purchased and is a little sentimental.
The issue I had was that it would power up with the red light, but sometimes the green light would not come on and I would get no bass from it. If the green light did come on though, I would get sound out of it.
I have already tried replacing all of the... -
by grimacelordHello,
I'm working on a MacBook Air A2337 that had liquid damage on the right I/O board. I ultrasonic cleaned the board and it all functions except the computer has no audio. I tried reballing the audio IC which is TAS5770AC0, but that did not restore audio. I could just replace the entire board, but I wanted to see if replacing the audio IC would fix it first. Mouser has a similar audio IC in stock which is TAS5770LC0YFFR, but I wasn't sure if it is compatible. I was just wondering if anyone knew if I could use the one from mouser as an acceptable replacement or if I need to purchase...12-11-2023, 11:13 AM -
by PiaskosHi, i've got problem with Dell Vostro 5490.
Board - Mantis CML 18788-1
Windows says "no audio device detected". The other functions work properly.
What i've done:
1. I checked motherboard
2. I changed audio codec (ALC3204)
3. I reflashed bios with clear ME
4. Audio is enable in bios
5. Both speakers are good
6. After installing the drivers from the Dell website, the devices visible in the manager:
- Audio for intel displays
- Intel Smart Sound Technology... - Loading...
