Toshiba 37E200U gets power but no pic and no sound. No 12V and No 24V

Hi and let me prematurely thank you for taking some time and looking at my post lol.

What it does: Green LED turns on and optical audio port does light up red when powered on.
It does get 5V standby out from power supply board to main board.
Also no fluctuations on voltage regulator readings.

What it doesnt: make any audible cue that its been turned on
Get any back light or sound
Show any 12V or 24v signal from power supply.

Absolutely no bulging caps or any sign of them being off or burnt. What do i check for this lack of 12v and 24v?

    Hi AxelSpott -

Can you post a clear picture of your TV SMPS board? What is the SMPS board model number?

Disconnect the power cable between the SMPS and the main board. Measure the resistance of +12V & +24V pins relative to ground, are they shorted out to ground?

On the cold side, there should be some rectifying diodes, are any of those diodes shorted when you test them with your DMM in diode mode?

If you can identify the PS_ON signal, can you jump it with a 100k resistor between +5V_STBY and the PS_ON pin? Does this make the +12V/+24V turn on?

Also use the search▼ above, there are a few other threads on this model.
Check if you have PWR voltage on P802 pin 13. It should be around 3.6 volts

Can you post a good clear straight shot picture of your powerboard, and a good shot of P802 where connector goes?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
              by PantherDave
              Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

              Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
              by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Toshiba 37AV500A Regza TV good power supply no sound no picture
              by jord4231
              Hi Everyone,

I'm working on a Toshiba 37AV500A Regza TV.

              The issue:
TV was working picture and sound went out. Green stand by light stayed on, It will respond to the power button being pressed (goes in and out of standby)
The TV will very intermittently work for around 40 mins then stop. This doesn't seem to matter if its hot/cold unplugged for a while etc.

I checked the PSU voltages and everything looked good.
No bulging caps or signs of heat.

              24v aud = 24.41v
              12v = 11.98v
              5v = 5.062
