    Dell E153FPT No Backlight

Hello, newbie here looking for some help from you gurus.

I have a Dell E153FPT that recently stopped working. When I power it up, it briefly shows a nice display then blanks out after 1 second. I still have green lights etc.
Here I a picture of the board.
Where do I start? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello
Not sure about that cap left and lower edge of yellow transformer, looks bulged on the top if it is then replace, might pay to recap the power/supply leaving out the 450V 100uf cap as they rarely fail
Check all solder joints on the board with a good magnifying glass, paying particular attention to inverter area, resolder any bad joints or ring cracks
If that dont do it then your CCFLs must be suspect

you are correct, it is bulged. took it out and it tested bad. bad news is that is 1000uf 16v, I can only find a 1000uf 35v. would that work or will I need the exact match?

I think there is no problem going to the 35v to test but replace it with a 16v when you can, as you probably know it is going under voltage that is the No No
Hope someone will come in and confirm this please

          doctervr6,

Can you post the markings on the orignial cap?

Also markings on your intended replacement 1000uF/35V.

I have a feeling this should be low ESR cap.

sorry for the delay, I was able to repair the monitor by replacing the said cap. I replaced it with a cap with the same specs. thanks again you guys are the best.

Bobdee, I thought that you could go 'over voltage' spec without problem, but should at all times replace with the same capacitance in whatever size farad... I thought the voltage spec was indicating the operating voltage, and that the cap would not burn through as long as you stayed under that spec.

Dell G3 15 3500 - Battery bug (black screen and flashing keyboard backlight)
                by HTR-Informatique
                Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

                Dell Inspiron 15 3558 - no backlight
                by miosz
                Hi,
I'm trying to fix friend's Dell, it had liquid damage in the past, but as far as I know it was fixed in professional service. It was working fine for quite some time, except for dead battery, but recently there was blackout in the building and after power was restored, laptop was broken. When I got it, it was posting, but OS didn't boot, also backlight was gone. After some tinkering I switched off secureboot and it started booting normally, but backlight issue persisted. I opened it up and started looking for issues. Checked both fuses on display and all fuses on motherboard which I...
