Samsung UN55H6400 No Video or Audio

    Hello folks,

This is new to me, and trying to determine if this is panel, Tcon or Main board issue.

The TV responds to remote control (when on, the Optical audio light is on / red, and Tcon blue light turns on) - both on and off

Disconnecting power supply cable to Main board, forces the back light to turn on.

How would I determine if this is main, Tcon or bad panel? Is the next step disconnecting the cables from TCON to Panel? Cheapest option was to replace the EEPROM on the main board - I did that, and no change.

Just seeing if I'm on the right track. Thank you

Unplug ribbon cables to panel one at a time to see if tv powers up on one side.

    This may apply. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50646

      Hi,
Thanks neilc6 ... yes, this is applicable, somewhat.

with TV face down, I disconnect the right hand side ribbon to panel and I get back light.
if I cover with scotch tape, the left most side of the ribbon cable or right most, I get good image on the left hand side of the screen. I can't get anything on the right hand side only black (with backlight) or full white.

So I started making measurements on the right hand side tab (board bonded to panel) and many of the caps are shorted. Any way to identify which one (cap) is the problem without removing all of them?? Assuming a shorted cap here, but i could be wrong.
      Any guidance is appreciated.

        Had similar situation here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80010

Too difficult to find the short with the 0402 and 0603 caps. Tried tape method, ripping off side tabs and ended up scrapping the tv since the touchpad remote sells for $100!

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
            by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Samsung UE65RU7090UXZT main board issue no video out. BN94-14180M
            by alltvrepairs
            Hi,

I have confirmed that I have a mainboard problem.
I have tracked no hardware issued on board so might be a software dump required.

I have searched a bit but wasn't able to find anything for my screen:

            Here are some more details:
            Panel: cy-nn065hgev1h
            Main: BN94-14180M P08F

            Your help much appreciated!

Samsung UN55MU6103F video problem; has colored stripes on the display
            by alro7779
            Hello, everyone!

A co-worker gave me a 55-inch Samsung TV model UN55MU6103F so I can try to fix the following problem... As soon as I plug it in to the wall, the TV turns on, and the display shows a few stripes all over the screen. I took off the back cover and disconnected both ribbon cables that go to the display (one at a time) so by doing that I can narrow down the bad section of the problem, but in both cases the display turns black. I know there are some voltages that I have to check (VGH, VGL, etc.) but don't know what reading each has to show. If anyone could guide me on this,...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
            by Asraf Atb
            Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
            by kca
            Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...
