Backlight and Sound But No Video on Vizio P502UI-B1E

    Hey everyone.

Found this TV on the side of the road and the guy who put it there said one day it just stopped turning on.

I took it back and determined that I need to replace the power supply board. Did that and the TV turned on and I could hear audio from my source, but no video and no backlight.

I replaced the EEPROM but that didn't fix anything.

Found https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...&postcount=136 and tried throwing it in the oven.
This fixed the backlight, but still got no picture.

After that, I tried replacing the T-Con board, but that didn't help either.

I've been looking and can't find a main board (XECB0TK004060X) for a decent price. Is there anything else I can try or am I out of luck on this one?

Looked and I didn't see an edit button....

It's not possible to use a different model number main board is it? I see ones that look the same with slightly different model numbers all over eBay and they're very tempting

Your Post Header says Backlight and sound but no video. Then inside the Post you say you hear audio from my source, but no video and no backlight. Are your Backlights working? If YES then your problem lies in a shorted capacitor on the Panel Bd. ( the long boards attached to the LCD Screen). If NO then the LED Driver in the PSU if at fault.

Have a look at shopjimmy's website and see if they suggest suitable replacement boards
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

So are you getting the backlights or not?
Please upload good clear pictures of the whole back side of the TV showing all the boards.

Sorry, I was going step by step with what I did and what it fixed.
I didn't have backlight at first, but it came back after throwing it in the oven.

Since now you do have baklights, so what do you see on the screen if you have the ribbon cables between the T-CON and the LCD panel connected one at a time?
BTW, make sure to put all the screws for the boards back in place.

I don't know what's going on with the backlight. Sometimes it turns on, other times it doesn't. When it does turn on, it'll stay on indefinitely. But if I turn the TV off and back on, the backlight might not turn on again.

When it does work, this is all I see on the screen regardless of what's plugged into the TCON:

When leaving both disconnected, I see what is shown in the picture. When I have the left ribbon cable attached, I see the same thing. If I disconnect the left cable and attach the right, I see the same thing.

So you are saying you are see grey screen with minus symbol in side the circle when no cables from T-con to LCD panel connected?
I cannot see how it will have ANY image on the screen at all when the panel is not even connected to the T-CON board.
That is the screen shot of your panel, correct?

                              Hi all,

Ok so I have this beautiful un55h8000 samsung tv with sound but no video nor backlight. When turning the set on the red light blinks 5 times.

The screen shows no damage and backlight turns on when I disconnect the power supply from the main board. The tcon board only has 2 out of 3 leds on.

I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound

                              Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.
