Samsung Plasma PS60E530 no image, slow blinking green led

    Hello,
Trying to figure out what might be wrong with this plasma tv. It gives no image at all, not even a flash. No sound. The status led on the inside of the tv blinks very slowly. Maybe once every 5 or more seconds (which i understand indicates a fault causing shutdown).

I tested the main voltages which came out as follows:

    VA: 57v (Panel states 57v)
    VSC: -45v (Panel states -200)
    VS: 213v (Panel states 211v)
    VE: 139v (Panel states 105v)

I tested the VSC at a capacitor on the Y MAIN board labelled VSCAN but i'm not sure if this is right as the voltage is very low?

The front panel button lights up red and blinks a few times as the TV tries to turn on. During this time i am able to get the above voltages, but after a few seconds all voltages drop slowly to nothing (shuts down) and the green indicator goes into it's slow flashing.

I experimented with disconnecting the Y MAIN (and then powering back up) but for some reason the small transformer on Y MAIN (for VSCAN i think?) began to smell bad and smoke so i turned it off. I suspect this may be completely my fault in that perhaps keeping the Y MAIN power in but the ribbon disconnected at one point my have bypassed any failure detection circuits and let the Y MAIN burn itself?

Anyway jumping forward, I purchased a replacement Y MAIN and accompanying buffer boards which i installed today and now i'm back at the same point again i was at the beginning. Nothing has changed.

I have tested the buffer boards for shorts between the ribbon outputs and SVC_YOUT_L. No shorts found. All buffer panel ribbon outputs give a diode reading of about 800.

Really stumped as to what to try next because it's not easy to isolate the boards on this TV? they are daisy chained together and you end up with the TV doing nothing if you try and disconnect one board.

    Any help appreciated. Pictures attached.

    Thanks,
    James.

I'm always here asking for advice, so realize with my post count I may only be giving you a bump.

That aside, you'll see different examples of fixing similar problems, but maybe not with this specifc Y main.

You may want to try and get better resolution shots, so the component ID's can be seen.

    Otherwise it goes like this:

On your Y main, there is a Yellow wrapped transformer coil. Not far away is the Vscan pot.

I have had a very similar issue with a 65 of this era. But not this exact board.

You see that seven legged IC in this neighborhood. There are a pair of blue caps together, and then one on the otherside.

If it were me, the first thing I'd do is freeze spray those caps, and maybe that IC, and see if your green blink goes to once a second.

If that doesn't help, I then start freezing different areas with those little blue caps out of frustration.

If not, once the set is powered down and all the residual current has bled off, you could disconnect the white ribbon between the Ymain and the Main board and see if the green light returns to normal.

Asus X453MA won't turn on and green led light blinking
      by jxrepman
      Hi there,

I have this ASUS X453MA Laptop that's not turning on. When I plug in the charger, the green light just keeps on blinking and pressing the power button does nothing.

I have checked the charger and it is giving 19+ V

I have disconnected the battery and pressed power button for 30 seconds.

      I tried another RAM stick.

Tried disconnecting the keyboard and touchpad.

Tried disconnecting the HDD and the wifi adapter.

      The problem persists.

Hope you could help me out on this one. Thank you.

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
      by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

      Toshiba 55U7863DG - green light blinking (17MB130S)
      by naddaw000
Hello, I am trying to bring back to life my Toshiba 55U7863DG, which has never been the most reliable device - keep on annoying me with its slowness and some random start-up/shutdown issues requiring to unplug the AC. But yesterday it finally said goodbye and decided to not turn on again. Green light is blinking, I've seen this behaviour before and thought that these are some temporary whims again, but unfortunately not this time.

I have checked that my TV is build based on the 17MB130S board, which seems to be quite popular and easy to buy as a used one. Still I would like to ask...
