Just going by same model won't always work, you usually need to match up the numbers on the white sticker, what is your panel number? should be on a sicker on the back metal chassis somewhere.Comment

The board was mismatched to the TV. I have got another one with the same issue and what I did to fix this issue was to simply reball the old board's NAND memory and solder it to the new board. This fixed all issues and the TV works again. Thanks to everyone for participating in this thread.Comment

That's the only logical conclusion to the failure mode of the original board. The NAND memory was good and so taking it off the original board and placing to new donor made the new board fully compatible with the TV. Old tuner is still good also.Comment

I don't think you've read what I wrote carefully enough. You have to reball the memory in order to reuse it on the new donor board. How else would you solder it again?Comment

Hello everyone,
I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... -
I got a 15-IIL05 that failed to turn on BUT IT DID TRY TO TURN ON and then turned off after 30+- seconds, i disassembled it and found a screw loose inside the case.
With charger it turns on, fan spins but gives no image.
Tested main mosfets no short, tested 3.3v,5v,DRAM, CPU etc and they were present.
Reflashed BIOS, same problem.
Replaced both main mosfets.
Checked main mosfets again and i noticed that they closed once the laptop shut down, so i decided to bypass them and used a bench PSU to check how much power the laptop was drawing while trying to turn on, 20v@3A,... -
Currently trying to save a 65” 850D that definitely has a main board issue. Power supply has standby voltage and PS ON pin shows 3.5VDC but main has no signs of life…..no light under Sony logo and no optical port lit up. 12VDC is created by main board but no input triggers from main = no TCON 12V and no BL ON voltage present. I know about the trick of pulling the main to trigger the test pattern from the TCON but I get no backlight. If I jumper the 3.5VDC to TCON ON and BL ON, I can shine a light on the panel and see solid green, red, blue and white cycling. The 4 + backlight pins on the power... -
The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?... -
For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...01-08-2024, 05:56 AM
