did you inspect the back side of the PSU of crack soldering point?
could you listed the voltage you have on all legs of IC6100. be sure the black probe on HOT area chassis

Ok, guess the first thing you need to do is get the standby circuit working. As a test try heating the powerboard with a hairdryer be sure to heat the capacitors on there too, see if tv comes on or anything changes.

Gettting ~240v on both sides of the fuse - What i don't get is I get nothing on the standby 3v3 pin and i have a Red standby LED then goes to green when powered then, when failure occurs and 3 blinks code appears. I monitored pin 5 STBY+3.3V (CN6200) when on standby, green light and when 3 blink error is repeating, still nothing. DMM set too Auto range on VDC = 0.00v

Will redo everything tonight again - if I can eliminate one board from another I will let him know what the price is with a board swap, just trying to keep the price down and get the TV back to him

    Thanks

Watching this at the minute but would rather try do some debug on it to narrow it down to components rather than just swap out complete board if I can.

    Thanks for the reply nomoresonys

Try with tv unplugged from power, unplug everything from powerboard, plug power cord into outlet, so only thing you are powering up is the powerboard, see if you have the standby voltage.

Not even standby voltage, powerboard issue, you need at least the standby voltage to get started, check the fuse on powerboard if you didn't already.

Sony KDL-40W2000 3 LED Blnks Error

Hi all looking for some help on repairing this old TV for a friend in work. Its a Sony KDL-40W2000 (Old LCD TV).
Any Help Guidance would be much appreciated.

TV has the LED error code 3 -
    UNREG10.5V, PANEL5V Voltage Trouble (DCALERT1).

When power is applied and the power switch on tv is pressed you can hear the relay switching the LED goes from RED to Green for a brief couple of seconds then it goes into the flashing Red LED state. (3 blinks pause 3 blinks pause and so on.) On doing some reading up I've found:

"" Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault.

This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672. (I cannot find these parts on the schematics at all most parts have the letter of the component and then 4 numbers.) ""

I have attached a pic of connector CN6200 as I took some measurements from it but no voltages were present with the connector seated or unseated.
Some pics are attached and I hope to get back to this tonight to get more pics and measurements

I also found this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...hlight=40w2000

    Thanks in advance.

Sony KD-65A1 Repair – 4 Red Blinks Error
    by AK_777
    Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and...

    Sony A1e 5-blinks help
    by jchon
Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.

I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.
    https://www.manualslib.com/manual/20...1e-Series.html

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.

    Unfortunately the 5-blinks...

    Sony XBR-65X850D 2 Red Blinks
    by Nicktronic
    Hi all,

I have the subject TV and it will work normally sometimes but suddenly go black and give the 2 red blinks blink code. When this happens, I check the power supply board voltages and all I have is the Standby 3.3V and BL_ERR 2.2V. When it's working normally, all power supply board voltages look normal and stable. I've checked the backlights with a tester and they all test good. I've also read that the 2 red blinks is a faulty power supply board, so could it be throwing up an erroneous BL_ERR?

Any Sony experts out there that can help??...

Sony 75X9400E TV.. 5 Red blinks
    by dumbdd
I was using this TV for 5 years before it stopped working. I like this TV and would love to fix it myself.*

When I press the power button, the white led comes on (sony calls the module smart core) and then it switches over to 5 red blinks. No screen, no backlight, no relay click, nothing. I have disassembled the tv and found the service manual for 75x940e online. The manual suggests a faulty power board, TCON or the panel.**

The standby pin is at 3.3V. Fuses on the mainboard and TCON are fine. Caps on TCON also seem to be fine. When I turn on the tv the white led...

    Sony XR-55X90J 4 blinks
    by Nicktronic
Hey guys, got this Sony that turns on momentarily and then goes black with 4 blinks of the standby light. I can't find a service manual, but best guess was the Local Dimming board based on a similar TV saying LD_ERR or BCM_ERR. I found a replacement, but it didn't work. Before I put more money into replacement boards, Im wondering if anybody has seen this issue and what worked for them, or has the service manual for this specific TV.

    Thanks!...
