    Vizio e321vl Black Screen

    Hello,

I have a Vizio e321vl and 2 main boards for it. One of the main boards causes the tv to turn on, the Vizio logo to come up and then the screen goes black but the sound still works (and it passes the flashlight test).

So after this I thought there was something wrong with the main board and bought a working one from ElectroPartsOnline. However, this one just causes the TV to turn on but not show a logo and the screen just stays black with no audio or anything on the screen (it fails the flashlight test).

Any ideas? What pictures would help with this?

Lots of threads on that model if you do a search including this one.

If you have video you can see when using a flashlight, you have a backlight issue and the main is likely ok. Check the voltage on the power supply cn202 pin 12 BL ON/OFF Also check the voltage onthe main filter cap. (C120) it should be around 160v in standby and around 380v when the tv is on. If the PFC boost voltage is not working, it's likely the backlights won't work correctly.

The second board may be on the wrong input, so no audio or video when checking with a flashlight, try pressing the menu and see if you can see the menu screen with the flashlight.
