Re: Sony XBR-65X900C Sporadic Issues
I have voltage on the bl error pin on the ld board, does that mean its strictly a backlight issue or can the ld board itself be the problem?

Re: Sony XBR-65X900C Sporadic Issues
your TV issue are communication between ram and main processor i think.. as you plug it with LAN all recommend apps and smart apps loading and they occupied the ram so there are no more space to let the firmware run. CPU are responsible to clear the ram and load other script. you can repeat this methode how much you can till clear it.. this will never harm the set at all. other wise you need to reflow the cpu or ram.Leave a comment:

Re: Sony XBR-65X900C Sporadic Issues
Well, it's been a long and winding road..
But at the end of it.. SUCCESS!!!
A nice nifty 65" Sony Android TV...
A replacement board did the trick..
Again, I want to thank everyone that chimed in.. All the help was VERY much appreciated..Leave a comment:

OK... you might want to carefully see if you can track where that 5v is coming from / being switched or otherwise. You could do this visually or via a meter (again carefully). You might get lucky and find a component along the way... and then check to see if similar / same component exists on the "bad cards".... maybe.

Yea, the working board in the 55X gives me a solid 5V off the USB...Leave a comment:

Yea, that's with the "new" card...
Let me put the working board back in and repeat the check..

Re: Sony XBR-65X900C Sporadic Issues
I did check the 5V off the USB just for sheets and greens.
I initially got a solid 5V reading but then it faded and went to wild fluctuations.. This was on the 55X TV...
I didn't get a 5V again, even when the Power LED showed it was "on"...
I get the exact same cycles on the 55X that I did on the 65X..
Power LED comes on, fades, comes on, fades, then comes on real bright, then fades, then an orange/green LED.. Interesting to note that, the longer I let it cycle, the more orange/green flashes I see.. Starts off with 1 of each, after a few mins, 2 of each etc etc..
I also noticed that the Optical Audio laser only comes on for a brief moment. In a working environment, the red laser usually stays on all the time.
So, I am guessing I got a bad board..
It is quite likely that the "new card" is bad but again, this "playing around" was intent to see if you could locate a replaceable component on the card as opposed to shelling out the $300... at least that was my hope. :-)Leave a comment:

Re: Sony XBR-65X900C Sporadic Issues
I should also note that the afore mentioned cycle happens completely independent of any button pushing...
It happens at power up and pushing any button, including the power button, has no effect..Leave a comment:

that would be a good idea of at least giving you a "base check" before doing anything else like voltage checks.Leave a comment:

Re: Sony XBR-65X900C Sporadic Issues
Something else I think I might try is to take the new board and put it on the XBR 55X..
That should at least tell me whether the board is good or not...Leave a comment:

Re: Sony XBR-65X900C Sporadic Issues
Well, there is no joy in mudville today.
The board came in and I installed it.. The Power LED comes on and pulses a couple times, then goes off.. The the LED turns orange, green, orange and then stops...
That COULD indicate a firmware issue, but usually (at least with the last couple times I tried it successfully) the LED stayed on orange/green/orange/green etc etc..
Anyways, I tried a firmware install all day yesterday and even left it going overnight.. No luck...
So, I am going to go back to Budwich's comment and try those voltages..
The board I got ostensibly says it's for the XBR-55X900C, but according to the labels on the panel, it should still work in a 65X....
I'll follow up with those voltages in a few mins..Leave a comment:

Re: Sony XBR-65X900C Sporadic Issues
before you go down that path, have you tried looking at some of the voltages at the main board to ensure that they are there? Perhaps your "cooking" didn't do anything but take out some marginal components (ie. capacitors or otherwise). In particular, 5v which should be easy to see / find ... just look around the usb port area (might have to look at which pin is which). Of course, there are others. Since you know one card (55) works, that indicates the supporting cards are good.... but it depends what voltages are supplied to the main and which are derived / switched at the main board.
Might be a waste of time but it can't hurt as a simple check.
I DID find a replacement Main Board for $300 that should arrive today.. I am hoping this will be a happy ending to a long saga...
I pulled the TV out of storage fully expecting I had cracked the screen at some point since it was last out.. A huge sigh of relief when I put it on the bench and saw it was in good shape.. Whew!!!
I'll follow up later today when the board comes..
Thanx again for all the help and replies.. It's all very greatly appreciated..Leave a comment:

ohhh. i see so the socket on 65 it had cable connected to LED back light driver board..
as you said. keep 55 working.. and try to spend 20USD only and learn to reball the 65 and the 55 one too.. i think its better than to buy MB for 65Leave a comment:

by HarryZAloha. First post here, hope I can find someone to assist me.
I have a Sony XBR49X800G with streaming issues. The issue mostly occurs watching sporting events (basketball and football). The picture will sometimes get pixelated, sometimes freeze for a few seconds while the audio continues, sometimes it's jerky. In other words, you get a headache watching the TV.
My ISP provides 500 Mb service and I have verified that I have at least 500 Mb on ethernet, and something over 300Mb on WiFi. I installed Analiti on the TV (it's an Android TV) and I get ~ 70 Mb on both WiFi... -
by cheeky2I have this Toshiba 49U7763DB Tv which was suffering issues after various electrical power cuts, which happened in quick succession
Originally the TV was powering on and then very shortly powering off. I managed to get into the menu structure before powering off and carry out a first time installation of the TV. Which didn't make much difference. I have managed to factory reset (that didn't make any difference either).
The firmware inside the 17MB120 is corrupted and is causing some strange issues so my question is does anyone have any suitable firmware for this model?

by PontyPCsHi people.
I have been trying to get my head round these issues with the eMMC putting the TV in to a boot loop condition, or completely dead, when a dump of the Boot 1, Boot 2 and USERDATA partitions have been made, the MLC lifetime counter has been reset, using the original eMMC with the RPMB partition intact and the eMMC is flashed with the original dump, Netflix and a few other Apps don't work. i assume all the DHCP keys and factory programmed RPMB access Key will be contained within the original dump, and as we are re-flashing the original eMMC i would expect every thing to work.... -
